Corella rightfully awarded No.1 for new album following chart error

A Beautiful World To Lose has been awarded No.1 in the UK Independent Breakers Chart, following a turbulent chart week of No.1 discrepancy. Originally dubbed No.2 by the OCC on Friday due to a technical error, Corella have now been awarded their rightful place at the top of the Independent Breakers Chart. The album also sits proudly in the Top 5 of the Album Downloads, Record Store and Independent Album Charts.

Regarding their chart success frontman Joel Smith says, “This was certainly a memorable one. Our first UK Number 1 as a band. Now that the dust has settled, we’re buzzing about the position, and have our fans to thank for an incredible week. It was of course disappointing to see that another band had been mistakenly credited with the #1 spot by the Official Charts.

That said, we respect The Cheap Thrills as a fellow northern band who have achieved an incredible result on their album release, and we are grateful that the OCC took swift action to resolve. We’re now starting to feel the moment that we’ve worked so hard for as four best friends from Manchester. This Number 1 is for all our fans, friends and family who have backed us up since day 1. We’re so proud of the album and no matter what happened with the chart position, we’re closing out an incredibly successful release week for our second album.”

Following the release of A Beautiful World To Lose, Corella embarked on a seven date tour across the UK, debuting songs live from the album to a rabid response from fans, with the razor-sharp new sound of A Beautiful World To Lose further bolstering the already imposing live presence of Corella.

The new searing riffs, propulsive rhythms and call to arms lyricism, as found in the likes of ‘Rewire’ and ‘Jump Scare’, arrive to send crowds into a frenzy, while its deeply heartfelt moments like ‘Lost A Friend’ and ‘All I Want’ are destined to deliver beautiful intimacy even as they now set their sights on their largest headline crowds yet.

Corella have ignited a following which has led to numerous capacity headline tours across the UK and Europe, main stage performances at festivals including Reading & Leeds, while also touring with the likes of Pale Waves, Circa Waves, The Wombats, and most recently Kaiser Chiefs in March.

They are thrumming with firecracker energy and an even more potent collective with the arrival of their second album A Beautiful World To Lose.
