CORELLA A BEAUTIFUL WORLD TO LOSE NEW ALBUM OUT NOW VIA FLG

Celebrating the release the Manchester indie rock band start their UK headline instore/outstore tour today, performing seven dates across the country kicking off with a hometown show at Manchester Academy 2.

Produced by Grammy-winning Jason Perry (The Molotovs, McFly, Don Broco) the album buzzes with energy as Corella’s songwriting and musicianship are taken to grand new heights. The themes cover loss, heartbreak and disillusionment, as the album tracks a generation’s frustration and apathy over the things that are out of our control.

The sentiment is hammered home in new single ‘What’s The Use’, a dark anthemic track with powerful lyricism analysing whether the world’s relentless quest for greatness is worth the pain to get there.

Regarding the single frontman Joel Smith says, “We really leaned into the emotional honesty of this track. It explores the pressure of chasing something bigger while questioning whether it’s all really worth it, capturing those moments of self-doubt and quiet reflection we all experience. At its core, it’s about feeling stuck between ambition and acceptance, and learning to keep going anyway.”

The single premiered this week with Alex Holcombe on Radio 1, joining a swathe of support for Corella at the station. Radio X have also proved strong champions, and Corella will join John Kennedy live in session next Friday (Sept 25^th).

Corella launched A Beautiful World To Lose in March with the searing politically charged lead single and album opener ‘Rewire’, while the following buoyant indie anthem ‘Simple Life’ takes a lighter look at existence, revelling in everyday joys.

The band turned up with heat with the scorching rock track ‘Bitter End’ which takes a snarling aim at the circus of life, while the menacing ‘Thunder Strike’ written with Circa Waves frontman Kieran Shudall captures the fun, chaotic and bumpy ride of life in a band.

The new songs of A Beautiful World To Lose continue to expand the honest songwriting and sonics of Corella in 2026. The band are at their most vulnerable on the likes of ‘Lost A Friend’ and ‘All I Want’, with the tracks dissecting grief and loss, the difficulty of letting go, the memories that stay with you, and learning to carry someone’s absence without losing yourself along the way.

Regarding ‘Lost A Friend’ Joel says, “This track reflects on grief and distance we’ve all personally felt since being in the band, but also the strange beauty of the world continuing to move around you while you’re trying to process loss. It’s about the difficulty of letting go, the memories that stay with you, and learning to carry someone’s absence without losing yourself along the way.”

Continuing about ‘All I Want’ he says, “‘All I Want’ is a deeply personal breakup song that I held very close to my heart while writing it, reflecting on the quiet aftermath of love and the strange mix of pride, loss, and acceptance that comes with letting someone go. It’s about wishing the best for someone even when it hurts to do so, and learning to live with memories that don’t quite fade.”

Corella take things up a gear with the following ‘Jump Scare’, an expansive rock track rich in soaring synths and harmonies alongside meaty riffs as the band capture the curiosity and frustration of inner-city life. While ‘Wolf’ sees Corella conjuring a new character in the foreboding indie track, depicting someone who walks with a confident swagger but, behind closed doors, is full of insecurities.

Corella bring A Beautiful World To Lose to a poignant close with ‘Note To Self’, an intimate look into, “Those intense, messy feelings you can’t quite control. Wanting something you can’t have and wrestling with the frustration that comes with it,” as Joel explains. “It captures the push and pull of desire, regret, and longing, and the way those emotions can loop in your head until they feel endless.”

And on the album he says, “These lyrics have more grit to them, more heart, and we knew we had to be willing to make ourselves more vulnerable”. With that Corella have delivered a bold new record, spurred by the uncontrollable turbulence of life to create an electrifying collection of songs to launch their new chapter into the stratosphere.

Corella will be performing the album in full on their forthcoming tour as well as a selection of fan favourites from their hit debut album Once Upon A Weekend. Full dates are as follows:
