British progressive rock band Ihlo have announced a new 2024 reissue and first-time vinyl release of their widely celebrated debut album Union. Set for release on 11th October via the Kscope label, Union is characterised by a seamless fusion of progressive metal, electronic elements & subtle pop hooks, and quickly established Ihlo as a rising force within the progressive music scene upon its release in 2019. The album reached #1 on Bandcamp’s ‘Progressive Metal’ charts multiple times and continues to resonate with fans worldwide.

Speaking on the reissue and the new partnership with Kscope, singer Andy Robison said “We’re very happy to finally be able to release this record on vinyl after many, many requests! Remastered by Acle Kahney of TesseracT, the new edition of Union will be available on vinyl LP for the first time ever as well as digipak CD with an 8-page booklet. The reissue also features two exclusive live recordings from the band’s electrifying performance at ProgPower Europe 2023, capturing the energy and musicianship that have made Ihlo a standout act in the prog community.

Formed originally as a duo with vocalist Andy Robison and guitarist Phil Monro, Ihlo expanded into a full-fledged band with the addition of guitarist Rob Mair, drummer Clark McMenemy, and bassist Michael Roberts. Together, they crafted Union—a progressive journey through lush sonic landscapes, blending ethereal synths with relentless, heavy guitar riffs. Robison’s poetic lyrics explore themes of surrealism, nature, and transcendence, drawing comparisons to iconic vocalists like Jeff Buckley and Cedric Bixler-Zavala.
