In both celebration of the upcoming festival season and their admiration for black metal icons Bathory, BEHEMOTH recently paid tribute with a cover of ‘The Return Of Darkness And Evil’. The boisterous reinterpretation of the Bathory classic is also the official anthem of Mystic Festival 2026. The single will also be immortalised on a limited edition vinyl pressing, available to purchase in three colour variants during the festival.

“The Shit Ov God” is BEHEMOTH’s most extreme and critically acclaimed album to date, challenging everything you thought you knew about the blackened death metal giants. BEHEMOTH have always been known for not shying away from controversy, and they most certainly remain true to this approach with their 13th full-length. Here’s a band that, 34 years in, have released their most inflammatory and extreme record to date. Eight songs that go into the fathoms of humanity, divinity, and what defiance means in an age where individuality is prized but everyone is clinging to their saviours. Musically, politically, or otherwise.

“a vital, visceral statement on the everlasting need to remain at war with our gods.”

– Kerrang! –

“The Shit Ov God’ is fierce, yes, but it’s also measured, intelligent, and undeniably self-assured.”

– Fistful Of Metal –

“Make no mistake, this music is as savage as a hyena with rabies tearing apart a tourist who got lost on a safari, but it wouldn’t be out of place in an arena.”

– Distorted Sound –

“This is a masterpiece of contemporary extreme metal and in years to come will be held up as a defining album of the genre from this era.”

– Powerplay –
