Electro-emo angst-pop trio AIR DRAWN DAGGER have dropped a music video for track ‘Cadavers’, from their debut album ‘A Guide For Apparitions’, out now via Long Branch Records.
“We finally made the rain video,” says the band on the music video directed by While She Sleeps’ Aaran McKenzie. “‘Cadavers’ was shot in a studio storm—complete with rain showers and a water tank—inspired by the iconic rock videos of the 2000s. It’s cinematic chaos and catharsis, feeding directly into the album’s narrative as Maisie confronts Stataries, the album’s central villain. Her re-emergence ties back to the opening shot of ‘You Should Have Known Better’, creating an infinite loop in the Church of Dagger Universe. Drenched, defiant, and full circle.”
The track ‘Cadavers’ is “The closest thing to a ballad on the album. The rain sounds return again to greet us at the halfway mark and affirm our soggy setting in the woods, by the lake. An anthem for giving up and welcoming the end. A song somewhere between sorrow and nihilism, designed to be sung at the top of your lungs,” adds the band.
Air Drawn Dagger invite you on a spellbinding journey with ‘A Guide For Apparitions’, their debut album, out now via Long Branch Records, that fuses macabre mysticism with multi-genre-infused rock. Produced by Neil Kennedy (Creeper, Boston Manor), each track pulls listeners through haunted tales and cosmic chaos, conjuring imagery from Witch Trials to ghost lore. The response to the album has already been overwhelming, with 100K+ streams in just 10 days.
The band also played a sold out album release show, and their biggest headline show to date, at Corporation, Sheffield earlier this month. The show brought the album to life through immersive theatre, with ghosts, live Martyrs, actors, confetti, streamers, bubbles, and chaos. “Seeing the characters step out of the record and into the real world made it all feel terrifyingly real,” exclaims Lewis (guitar, backing vocals). More live dates have now been announced, see below for details.
With all this, and more to come, 2025 is already set to be The Year of the Dagger.
