Midlands quintet x2fast are back with their urgent, perennially infectious new single “Attention Span”.
The track pairs punchy guitars and soaring hooks with the band’s high-energy blend of pop-punk and easycore, drawing on the throwback iteration of the genre while keeping its feet firmly in the present.
“We’re absolutely buzzing to release our new single, ‘Attention Span’, during ADHD Awareness Month. This high-energy anthem draws inspiration from 2000s pop-punk and easycore, summing up the experience of trying to navigate growing up and trying to function in life. Can’t wait for you all to hear it!” says vocalist Nat Billings.
Rising from the stacked Sheffield scene, x2 fast is a high-octane pop-punk outfit breathing new life into the Midlands alternative landscape.
Known for their explosive live energy and anthemic choruses, the band blends the nostalgic, angst-ridden melodies of the early 2000s Warped Tour era with a contemporary edge and sharp production.
In spite of this, the band’s resonating storytelling shines on through above all else. Relatable tales about growth, resilience and the chaotic beauty of youth bring the tracks searing through the speakers, as the band continues to pick up momentum across the UK.
January’s For The Better EP showcased the band’s slick hybrid of throwback and present day; driving guitars and soaring melodies underpinning tracks like “Side By Side” and “Settle Down”, with the collection quickly surpassing 100k streams, with support from BBC R1 and Idobi Radio.
Causing waves beyond the UK alone, x2 fast announced their signing to New York based Manic Kat Records (Amber Pacific, When Thieves are About, Ryan Cabrera) earlier this year. Following May’s anthemic “Save You”, the new single sees the Sheffield outfit continuing their impressive trajectory, with a the emphatic, heart-on-sleeve “Attention Span”
