Ascending Welsh heavy rock trio PYROGARIC have released their fierce new single and video, Bury My Soul. Watch the video here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?
Originally a raw demo during the recording of their 2023 debut album Home, Bury My Soul has been resurrected into a darker, heavier anthem blending ’70s rooted doom and blues driven hard rock. Recorded at Red Rock Studios in Pengam with producer Lyndon Price, the track captures the band’s raw, effects-free power. The band state: “‘Bury My Soul’ originally started as a demo back during ‘Home’, but we knew it had so much more to give. We brought it back into the studio and rebuilt it into something much darker and more physical, with heavier riffs and a bassline that hits harder than ever. Lyrically, it’s about finding a strange beauty in death: ‘six feet under and I’m still in love.’”
Formed in Newport in 2022 by schoolmates turned husband and wife Keelan Powell (guitar) and Jamey Leigh Powell (vocals & drums), PYROGARIC boasts a unique live dynamic, with Jamey Leigh singing lead while drumming, a feat praised by Planet Rock’s Steve Beebee as “one of the hardest things to do in music.” The lineup was completed in 2025 by veteran bassist Jim McDonald (ex Scarsun, Bad Sam), anchoring their low end as they wrote their third album, Fracture (2026).
Drawing inspiration from Black Sabbath, Candlemass, Dio, and Iron Maiden, the trio have self-released three albums (Home, The Serpent, Fracture) and forged a prominent live reputation. Their resume includes Planet Rockstock 2024, Planet Rock’s Winter’s End 2026, and support slots for Dead Witches, Bobbie Dazzle, and Fury.
With airplay from BBC Introducing and praise from Loud Enough Magazine noting they “could go the way of Green Lung,” PYROGARIC continue their steady rise.
