SOUTH WEST UK ALT-METAL QUARTET SLEEPWALKER ANNOUNCE DEBUT EP & NEW SINGLE
Cinematic modern metalcore outfit SLEEPWALKER have dropped their new single, Phantom Pain, accompanied by an official music video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?
Brit alternative metallers SLEEPWALKER feature Killian Black (vocals), O N I (guitar), Connor Kells (bass) and Will Dobson (drums). Spread across Wales and the South West, the four-piece blend alternative metal and modern metalcore with cinematic electronics, dark atmospheric textures and emotionally driven vocals, drawing influence from Bad Omens, Bring Me The Horizon, and Architects.
At the centre of Vol I: Eclipse is the tension between heaviness and vulnerability. Lead single, Phantom Pain, explores faith, devotion and sacrifice, drawing on vocalist Killian Black’s experience of growing up in a religious household. “I was raised in a religious household, so ideas of faith, devotion and sacrifice were things I grew up surrounded by. As I got older, I began questioning what I had been taught, and ‘Phantom Pain’ is my way of confronting those feelings,” remarks Black.
Their songs examine faith, obsession, love, loss and identity. Rather than resolving those contradictions, the band’s heavy riffs and electronic atmospheres become a backdrop for their deep personal stories.
While the project formed in July 2024, its members bring years of experience. Black and O N I have maintained a creative partnership for over fifteen years, driving SLEEPWALKER’s independent emergence through organic growth and a strong visual presence.
Phantom Pain serves as the bold first statement from an ambitious new project, introducing a band interested not only in how heavy music can sound, but in what it can carry.
Track listing: 1. Phantom Pain; 2. It Follows You; 3. Inertia.
