Post-melodic nu-metal band ZILQY today release ‘RUN‘, the third advance track from their debut full-length album Birth of Riot, which is set for release on Wednesday 7th October. 16th September marks exactly one year since ZILQY first announced their arrival to the world in 2025. To celebrate, the music video premiere will be followed by a special YouTube Live broadcast featuring all four members at 8:30 PM JST. ‘RUN’ is one of the tracks that best embodies ZILQY’s musical vision of balancing heaviness with universality. Built around a powerful modern metal sound, the song combines a driving sense of momentum with an expansive melody, carrying an energy that, true to its title, surges relentlessly forward. Lyrically, it portrays the struggle to reclaim one’s sense of self amid comparison with others and the pressure to conform, ultimately finding the will to take a step forward on one’s own terms. The concept behind the music video is the live space as a declaration of existence. By removing the boundary between stage and floor and placing the camera directly in the heart of the action, the video captures the moment when band and audience become one, creating an immersive experience that puts viewers right inside the room. The video was directed by KOH YAMADA, who also directed ZILQY’s previous music video, ‘Carry On’. Having worked on visual productions for leading names in Japan’s loud rock scene, including coldrain, SiM and Crystal Lake, YAMADA is known for dynamic visuals that emphasise the physicality and performance of bands through lighting, camerawork and CG. For ‘RUN’, dramatic transitions between stillness and motion, combined with camerawork that brings viewers extraordinarily close to the performers, vividly translate the song’s speed and raw impulse into visual form. |
