ZILQY are Anna on vocals, Toki on guitar (formerly of Aldious), Miho on bass (formerly of LOVEBITES) and Kano on drums. Describing themselves as a “Global All-Female Metal Band from Japan,” the four-piece are setting their sights on the international metal scene, with a particular focus on Europe and North America. At the heart of the band’s music are stories of people confronting fear, conflict, loss and loneliness, while finding the strength to think independently and choose their own path. Rather than offering easy answers, ZILQY invite listeners to question themselves and take the first step towards shaping their own future. Set for release on 7 October 2026 via Maverick DC, ZILQY’S 10-track debut album Birth of Riot is built around the concept of balancing heaviness with universal appeal. Crushing guitar riffs and breakdowns rooted in contemporary metal meet striking synths, memorable melodic lines and explosive hooks. The result is an aggressive yet emotionally accessible sound that establishes ZILQY’s distinctive vision of “Post-Melodic Nu Metal.” All lyrics on the album were written by Anna. Sung in English, they explore the realities of conflict, loneliness, fear and loss, focusing on individuals who choose to determine their own futures. Through Birth of Riot, ZILQY deliver that message to listeners around the world. Further advance singles from the album are scheduled to follow. The band will also appear at SUMMER SONIC 2026 on 16 August, ahead of a nationwide Japanese tour beginning on 11 October. “World’s End” and its official lyric video are out now.
