CODE:WORDS SHARE NEW SONG “BLACKOUT” — LISTEN

CODE:WORDS are back in your ears and on your mind with the ferocious new song “BLACKOUT.” Listen here.

It’s checks off all the boxes — grooves, guitars, and the sickest breakdown!

“‘Blackout’ is about two people feeling an intangible magnetism, throwing out their hesitations, and fully giving into their desire for each other,” says vocalist John Dillon. “It’s about the kind of undeniable connection that gets ‘under your skin’ and leaves you riding the line between obsession and addiction. It’s that feeling of knowing you’re playing with fire, but lighting the match anyway. It tries to capture the rush that comes with embracing a loss of control and mutually letting your base instincts take the wheel.”

ABOUT CODE:WORDS:
When CODE:WORDS formed in Los Angeles in 2023, they did not arrive quietly. The band showed up with urgency and a sound that already felt lived in, like it had a past behind it, like they’d been a touring act for years before anyone was paying attention.

They first gained attention with “Wash the Blood,” a self-released debut that spread without a rollout or a manufactured moment. People found it on their own and kept passing it along. In this short time, the band has amassed over three million streams worldwide, not on hype, but on repeat listens and slow-built loyalty. Early 2026 marked another breakout moment for CODE:WORDS as they announced their signing to longtime industry powerhouse The Artery Foundation and released their most dynamic single to date — “Limerence.” The song quickly took the industry by storm, debuting on SiriusXM Octane’s Test Drive and Kerrang Radio’s Unleashed in the UK. It followed by earning a spot in full rotation on SiriusXM’s Octane for three months solidifying the band’s ability to stand on their own alongside the biggest acts in mainstream rock airplay.

CODE:WORDS continue to follow suit with their second radio single “All Consuming,” currently climbing the charts at both
Mediabase (#51) and Billboard (#56), marking new peaks for the group as they continue to reach new milestones in their rapidly
growing career.

Fronted by John Dillon, with Garrett Lowery, Max Codoceo, and Clayton Blue CODE:WORDS writes from uncomfortable places: Obsession, shame, control, emotional exhaustion. Nothing is exaggerated. Nothing is softened. The music is meant to make you feel something raw, and it leaves you uneasy in the best way.

The band’s sound was shaped alongside producer Hiram Hernandez (PINKNOISE, Magnolia Park, Dark Divine, Saosin). The approach is deliberate, clear and concise, with one objective: Give you everything until you feel it all.

CODE:WORDs are on tour with The Word Alive and Downswing. Dates run through August 6 and are in the graphic below.
