Wille and the Bandits Capture Raw Live Energy on New EP ‘Acoustic Reversions Volume 1’ plus First Single “Trouble Round the Bend (Acoustic)” Out Now HERE
Fresh from an acclaimed stripped-back tour alongside Beth Hart, Wille and the Bandits frontman Wille Edwards and bassist Harry Mackaill have recorded a raw and intimate 6-track EP Wille and the Bandit – Acoustic Reversions Volume 1 featuring brand-new songs alongside reworked versions of fan favourites, captured exactly as audiences hear them live.
The EP was born from repeated requests at shows from fans wanting to hear these unique arrangements again. Recorded with no frills, overdubs, or studio gloss, the release captures the energy, chemistry, and authenticity of the live performances in their purest form. Available on a pay-what-you-want basis, the EP will be offered on CD and digital download, with tracks gradually rolling out across streaming platforms throughout the year. The first taste of the project arrives today, with the release of an acoustic reworking of “Trouble Round the Bend”, available across all streaming platforms.
“The response to these stripped-back versions on tour was something special,” says Wille Edwards. “People kept asking where they could hear them again, especially Trouble Round the Bend, so it felt right to release an acoustic version of the song. Stripping it back gave it a completely different energy, more intimate, more exposed, but still powerful in its own way. We wanted to capture exactly what people experienced in the room during the duo shows, no studio tricks, no overthinking, just the songs as they really are.”
The release follows the band’s acclaimed album Salt Roots, their most ambitious project to date. The ten-track record explored the full breadth of the band’s eclectic musical identity.
The album received widespread praise press. Music News described it as “It is one of the best things I’ve heard this year”, awarding it 5/5, while Rockposer.com called the band:
