British pop-punks Goldstate see a “Blessing in Disguise” on honest new single
British pop-punk crew Goldstate have unleashed their new single “Blessing in Disguise”. The melancholy track pulls on the heartstrings as the quartet nods to some of their genre contemporaries, cutting through their introspective musings with punchy guitars and moreish melodies.
On the new output, lead vocalist Ben Pritchard shares: “Blessing In Disguise is a track about lost love, but not in the way you expect it to be. It’s about the breakdown of a relationship that initially makes you grieve that loss, but with time and clarity you realize that the door closing was actually the healthiest thing that could have happened to you – a blessing, in disguise.”
Breaking onto the scene just last year, Goldstate announced their debut with the explosive “Love Bomb”, setting out their stall as an exciting new name in pop-punk; one that harks to the late 00s and early 10s, whilst retaining an air of freshness, with infectious melodies and a sonic depth set by sizzling riffs and percussive potency.
Despite their recent formation, members Ben Pritchard, Danny Ray & Jezrah Giles, and Amy Barnett impressed throughout 2025, following the debut single with “Bad Blood” ft. Bronnie and “Nothing To Lose”, to cap a productive first year for the Leicester natives.
Joining forces with Manic Kat Records, the young four piece continue to dial down on a sound that will resonate with any era of pop-punk fan. Cultured musicianship, honest lyricism and soaring choruses adorned February’s “Deep End” & the band follow up with a track that resonates both lyrically.
The reflective but hopeful “Blessing in Disguise” sees the Midlands crew continue to take 2026 by the scruff of the neck. Nods to Chief State, Neck Deep and Cold Weather Kids emanate from the new single, as Goldstate deliver their latest instalment of unabashedly honest pop-punk.
