“While the White Stripes — their most obvious comparison — were about controlled energy, Girl Tones are proudly imperfect.” – Rolling Stone “I could try and weave together a blanket of colorful words to describe Girl Tones and how talented they are but I’m just gonna say Girl Tones is f***** dope, dude.” – VICE “Classically trained sisters Kenzie and Laila are the brains behind this smart, fuzzy dose of pop rock sugar and spit – sort of like The Kills throwing a really fun party with a few riot grrrl stars. Fizzing with likeable energy but clever enough to keep you on your toes.” – Louder Sound Ahead of two shows at The Great Escape Festival later this month, bulldozing rock duo Girl Tones have released their newest song, ‘Stubborn Mouth’ via Parallel Vision and Big Loud Rock. Fully aware of their tendency to jump the gun and self-sabotage, the band doesn’t care to be called out. Delivered in a taunting kind of singsong, the new single is a playful ridicule. Masters of turning conflict into instantly catchy rock anthems, Girl Tones prove time and time again how they can take a dig at themselves while still dishing it out. Listen to ‘Stubborn Mouth’ HERE. The band shared that, “this song is a vulnerable reflection on being headstrong and how it can ultimately deteriorate your own well-being and others around you.” The single arrives in tandem with an official video directed by Austin Dickerson. Looking right at home performing inside the wood paneled walls of a retro house, Girl Tones can’t help but take a bite out of the forbidden fruit. Watch the video HERE. Girl Tones have staked their claim as one of the most exciting new acts to see live and continue to defend it. Already this year, they have toured in support of Dexter and The Moonrocks and Peter McPoland. With festival season underway, they have performed at SXSW and Treefort, with The Great Escape, Bottlerock, Outside Days, Bonnaroo, Just Like Heaven and more still to come. Recently announced, Girl Tones will be supporting The Rare Occasions on their upcoming tour. See all upcoming dates here. Back in January, the duo released their headstrong first single of the year titled ‘Volcano.’ The single arrived with their inclusion in Amazon Music’s list of Artists to Watch in 2026. They were featured alongside other buzzy names like Fcukers, Florence Road, Folk Bitch Trio, NewDad and more. The coming months will see Girl Tones revealing more music, more tour dates, and official plans for their debut album. |
