PRE-ORDER THE DEBUT ALBUM KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES HERE
BIGGEST EVER HEADLINE TOUR FOR 2027 ON SALE NOW HERE
The Lilacs are back with another taste of their highly anticipated debut album, Keeping Up With The Joneses. The Wigan four-piece have put out their new single, Put The World To Rights, out now via Manchester’s renowned independent label Scruff of the Neck. Listen to Put The World To Rights here.
Put The World To Rights is The Lilacs at their most infectious yet, a hook-laden anthem that’s already set to be a fan favourite. Following the band’s Manchester and Paris-recorded single What’s The Worst That Can Happen?, this track sees the Wigan quartet leaning into singalong energy, the kind built for the festival crowds they’ve spent the summer playing to.
Keeping Up With The Joneses has already announced itself as one of this year’s most exciting debut albums. With previous singles from the album already revealed, including Miss Behavin’ and Girl Behind The Bar, the record showcases the high-energy performances and insistent melodies that the band have made their trademark.
Speaking of the track, the band said “Arguably our favourite track on the record, “Put The World To Rights” is the 4th and last single of our debut album and we think the fans are going to love it. Releasing music is always a nervous time for the band, but there’s a genuine feel of excitement on this one. With it being the last single, it also means the album release is fast approaching!!!”
Keeping Up With The Joneses is available to pre-order HERE. The band’s official store offers a CD, cream vinyl, and signed lilac galaxy vinyl with alternate black artwork. Meanwhile, select indie stores have an exclusive red cornetto vinyl with a signed obi strip, packaged in alternate red artwork.
Formed by vocalist Ollie Anglesea and Sam Birchall (guitar), The Lilacs are completed by Matt Johnson (bass) and Dave Gomersall (drums). They debuted early in 2019 with Vicarage Road and have been building a following of dedicated fans ever since, winning over more with single Grace in 2023 and scoring a Top 10 on the Independent Albums Chart with The 395 (To Forever) EP in 2025.
The Lilacs have built a reputation for electric live shows, sharing stages with Lottery Winners and The Lathums and playing everywhere from Isle of Wight Festival to Truck. That momentum has translated into increasingly ambitious headline dates, including a sold-out 2,700-capacity show in Manchester. Their summer touring has kept up the pace, with a recent stop at Rock For People in the Czech Republic followed by major sets at Kendal Calling, Tramlines and Latitude and a first-ever Leeds Festival appearance still to come this month. The momentum carries into 2027, when the band embark on their biggest headline tour yet, taking in venues like Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse. Full dates are available here.
It hasn’t been a straightforward road to the debut album. Guitarist Sam Birchall was recently given the all-clear from cancer after a year of treatment, a journey documented by both ITV and BBC. Yet with Keeping Up With The Joneses arriving later this year, The Lilacs are proving nothing can slow their momentum.
