| New York, NY (1st May 2026) — Today, beloved pop-punk trailblazers Mayday Parade release “Blame It On The Youth,” teasing the third instalment of their three-part album trilogy celebrating the band’s 20th anniversary. The trilogy, which includes Sweet and Sad released in 2025, marks Mayday Parade’s first self-release since their 2006 debut EP Tales Told By Dead Friends, which they famously sold in Vans Warped Tour parking lots. That DIY release went on to sell more than 50,000 copies and laid the foundation for a two-decade career, making the trilogy a true full-circle moment for the band. Listen / Watch “Blame It On The Youth” HERE and Below:
An anthemic ode to blissful recklessness, was built around a chorus from drummer Jake Bundrick, and the whole group rallied around the idea, pitching in until the track became what it is today. The track arrives on the traditional festival of May Day, a fitting moment to kick off Mayday Parade’s newest era. Guitarist Brooks Betts shares, “Jake came in with this amazing song that we were all drawn to. We knew instantly it was important to get the track right but we really just had a solid chorus and loose verse melodies so the band quickly got to work constructing multiple versions of lyrics to finish the track. We worked together in a way that was truly collaborative and with the process feel we created something we are all super proud of.” With over 1.43 billion streams, multiple platinum and gold singles, and a catalog that helped shape modern emo and alternative rock, Mayday Parade remains as vital and energized as ever. The release of “Blame It On The Youth” follows Sweet and Sad and their massive 2025/2026 world tour. The band is also confirmed to return to this year’s Welcome to Rockville Festival, Sonic Temple Festival, Vans Warped Tour, Aftershock Festival, and much more.
