Nashville, TN – February 13 – Today, country singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and band member of GRAMMY-Award winning Zac Brown Band, Caroline Jones, officially released her highly anticipated studio album Good Omen, marking her first album release with Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment. Written alongside Eric Paslay, Joy Williams, and Sarah Buxton, the 12-track album puts the singer-songwriter’s lyrical depth and impressive musicianship on full display with a diverse collection of songs that reflect her growth and life perspectives as a new mom and rising musician. Good Omen is now available to stream and purchase HERE.
“Good Omen is a celebration of life in all its colors. These songs chronicle the navigation of my new work-life balance in real time,” said Jones. “Motherhood has enriched and deepened my perspective and my courage to tackle more raw, vulnerable and even darker topics on this record, like on “Divorce in a Small Town,” “No Tellin’,” and “The Bridge.” Musically, the acoustic and organic hooks that have been staples in my production are balanced on this record with some dark, Appalachian melodies and dramatized with live strings and big electric baritone guitars.”
Co-produced with Julian Raymond and Ric Wake, Good Omen features a range of melodies and harmonies that bring the listener on an unexpected musical journey, from Caroline’s signature light-hearted, upbeat country-pop singalongs to twangy, boot-stomping, guitar heavy anthems to stripped-down, sentimental serenades that will leave you teary-eyed. True to her musicianship, Jones also performed the majority of instruments heard on the album including banjo, bouzouki, piano, acoustic and electric guitars, dobro, lap steel, keyboard, and more. Each foundation perfectly complements the emotionally-rich lyrics throughout the project, providing an autobiographical snapshot of Caroline’s current life experiences and her evolution as a gifted musician.
Good Omen opens with rising radio single “No Tellin’,” an empowering, blue-grassy song with a singalong chorus that highlights the courage it takes to tell a hard, ugly truth. Sweet, delicate guitar strings transition into the heartfelt “All The Things,” which celebrates the strength of working parents and the support system that makes the juggle possible, while “You’re It For Me, Honey” is a Shania-reminiscent, joyful declaration of devotion inspired by Jones’ real-life romance with her husband. “The Bridge” is a hauntingly beautiful guide for moving on with grace, which is then followed by the effortlessly romantic “Forever Love.”
Brought to life by a new visualizer, “Storm Chaser” injects a gust of energy with powerful vocals and twangy lyrics about an unpredictable quest, as Caroline chants, “Spinning me around in a dance with danger, running for the rain when the sky turns blue,” while “Cutting It Close” is a sweet serenade that explores the decision to fully embrace a new romance. Title track “Good Omen” poetically narrates Caroline’s new life perspective of seeing the hardest challenges in life as opportunities for growth. A melodic acoustic riff leads into the lyrically honest “Family,” with “Divorce In A Small Town” depicting the complexities of separation. The album wraps with one of Jones’ favorite tracks on the album, “Becca,” which widens her exploration of motherhood, turning the lens outward to honor the strength of women whose efforts often go unseen.
Caroline has been busy balancing her rising solo career with her full-time role in Zac Brown Band, which saw her performing as a part of the group’s Love & Fear residency at Sphere Las Vegas over the past few weeks. Up next, the talented artist will bring Good Omen to life on stages across the country as a part of her supporting headline tour. Tickets are on sale through the link HERE.
