Ona Mafalda is an artist in constant reinvention. Her music is born from the need to reset, to start from scratch, and to transform without fear. With roots between Spain and the United Kingdom – and singing in both Spanish and English – her sound blends indie-rock’s electric energy with heart-pounding, shimmering indie-pop, creating a bilingual, borderless style. It’s an approach that in turn has taken her across the world, notably opening multiple times for Coldplay on their The Music Of The Spheres tour, performing at Primavera Sound, as well as The Great Escape. On 19th November, she will headline The Victoria Dalston in London. Tickets are available here.

With the release of her new album, Reset, Ona Mafalda begins a phase of artistic and personal renewal. The record is a journey of electric guitars and lyrics that explore the courage it takes to start over, inspired by the music that has accompanied her since childhood — now reinvented in her own language. Inspired by artists such as The Strokes, Florence and the Machine, Blondie, PJ Harvey, and Patti Smith, Ona embraces the rawness of the guitar and turns it into the driving force behind a new creative chapter. Recorded in London with producers Mac Wetha, Dan Holloway, Sour Sync, and Khotton, Reset exudes authenticity, strength, and vulnerability in equal measure, reflecting the voice of a generation unafraid to begin again.

As new album Reset makes its way into the world, so do two brand-new songs ‘Harta’ and ‘Broken Games’. These latest offerings – alongside recent single and album highlight ‘Running’ – demonstrate the many different ways that Ona uses her bilingual skills to express and connect. Reset is an album that finds a way to bind its many differing characterises into one clear identity.

Ona comments on the new songs:

Harta is my way of releasing everything I’ve been holding in. In Spanish, Harta means ‘fed up,’ and that’s exactly what this song is about, reaching that point where you’re done with the noise, the drama, and the expectations, and you decide to leave it all behind. It’s an upbeat track with a rock edge that captures that explosive mix of frustration and liberation. Harta is a reminder that sometimes walking away isn’t giving up, it’s taking your power back.”

She continues:

“I recorded Broken Games in London with Mac Wetha and Dan Holloway, and it really reflects that playful, carefree energy I was feeling at the time. The song is about the unspoken, unserious side of love, those moments when not every relationship has to be deep or forever, and sometimes you just want to have fun and live in the moment. It’s flirty, light-hearted, and a little mischievous, a reminder that women can own their desires and set their own rules without apology!”
