Boston’s Blackened Crust/D-Beat/Hardcore Punk Band DYSTOPIATE Shares New Album “Filth Film”; Available As Vinyl, CD, and Digital!

DYSTOPIATE was started in December 2019 by Cody Maillet of CRYOSTASIUM and an ex-member of such bands as PSYCHO, as a d-beat/punk/metal/crossover hybrid. In 2020-2021, Maillet released a demo, 2 albums, and an EP. By October 2021, DYSTOPIATE was born as an active, playing band. Cody took on the bass/vocals, while additions Tom Preziosi (of Legions Descend, Soul Remnants, Cryostasium), Andrew Martin (Legions Descend, Soul Remnants, Cryostasium – GUITAR), and Mitch Fletcher (Soul Remnants) on drums. Together they recorded one demo and a live album.
The lineup remained stable until 2024 when Mitch suddenly quit the band. In late 2024, the band managed to record their first studio full-length “Terminal Dissonance” with the help of drummer Jeff Beckwith (Hirudinea, Fresh Kill – he also produced, mixed, and recorded the album in his Witch House Studio, Groton MA).
In 2025, sessions for “Filth Film” started when suddenly, Andrew quit the band. That left Tom and Cody. They pursued on and were able to produce “Filth FIlm” with Tom handling all the guitars and Cody handling bass and vocals again. They recorded the album in Tom’s home studio, Studio Dystope, in Townsend, MA. DYSTOPIATE and underground label I Heart Noise out of Cambridge, MA were able to connect and “Filth Film” was released both on vinyl and CD, as well as digitally. DYSTOPIATE are currently working on new material as well as a series of DEVO covers as a mad tribute.
