FLOGGING MOLLY // ‘TIL THE ANARCHY’S RESTORED // EP Review

8

Irish-American Celtic punk rock band Flogging Molly has announced the release of their newest EP, ‘Til The Anarchy’s Restored, set to arrive on March 10 via Rise Records. The EP features the new single of the same name, along with a pair of live performances of classic Flogging Molly tracks “Drunken Lullabies” and “What’s Left of the Flag.” Both songs originally appeared on the band’s 2002 album, Drunken Lullabies, and were recorded with producer Steve Albini in just one take during the Anthem sessions.

Flogging Molly has been entertaining audiences with their high-energy blend of traditional Irish music and punk rock since their formation in 1997. The band has released several successful albums, including their latest, Life is Good, which debuted at #20 on the Billboard 200 chart in 2017.

The lead single off ‘Til The Anarchy’s Restored, also titled “’Til The Anarchy’s Restored,” is a raucous, foot-stomping anthem that showcases the band’s signature sound. The song is an anthem for those who are disillusioned with the current state of the world and yearn for a return to a simpler, more just time.

The EP’s live performances of “Drunken Lullabies” and “What’s Left of the Flag” are a nod to the band’s early days and remind listeners of why Flogging Molly has become such a beloved and influential act in the punk rock scene.

Flogging Molly frontman Dave King describes the EP as a “snapshot in time,” capturing the band’s current mindset and their love of performing live. “We’re so excited to share this EP with our fans,” King says. “We can’t wait for them to hear these new songs and the live performances of some of our classics.”

‘Til The Anarchy’s Restored is a testament to Flogging Molly’s enduring appeal and their ability to evolve while staying true to their roots. Fans can look forward to hearing the band’s latest material on the road this summer as Flogging Molly embarks on a U.S. tour with fellow punk rockers The Dropkick Murphys.

‘Til The Anarchy’s Restored’ is set to arrive on March 10th via Rise Records.
