You Me At Six // Final Nights Of Six // The Xcerts // Live Review // The Telegraph Building // Belfast
Here we are back at the glorious Telegraph Building for the latest instalment bringing one of the finest UK Rock Bands across the pond for the Northern Ireland crowd to enjoy, You Me At Six. The band stunned fans in 2024 announcing that they would split up after their 2025 tour and tonight Northern Ireland get to say their farewell to one of their fave UK rock bands. Nine studio albums, multiple tours, headline shows and killer support slots and it’s time to call it a day, The Telegraph Building will be rocking tonight as they throw their very best at a thirsty and passionate Norn Iron Rock audience.
In support we have The Xcerts, a highly addictive band with a collection of easy on the ear pop-rock songs that whet the Belfast crowd appetite. These guys shared the stage with YMAS the last time they played Belfast back in 2018 also along with Greywind, so it’s great to have them back in the city once again making their mark with the local crowd and reminding them of their string catalog of music. This hard hitting trio know how to pack a punch, but in the most enjoyable way. They guys soundtrack is free flowing and easy to get into and in a quick succinct set they win over the Belfast audience like the flick of a switch and wrap up their set with “It feels Like Falling In Love” yet another punchy pop-punk rager that has everyone singing along. Belfast sends them off with with rapturous applause and lots of love, I am sure it won’t be too long before we see them in the city once again.
A quick changeover and the stage starts to get prepped for YMAS. The room starts to fill up as the Belfast crowd file in off the streets and the noise levels increase along with the anticipation!
The atmosphere in the Telegraph Building tonight is electric. There’s a buzz in the air, a palpable excitement that you can feel in your bones. I’m standing in the pit, surrounded by familiar faces and total strangers, all united by one thing: You Me At Six.
It’s the Final Nights Of Six tour, and I don’t know if there’s a more fitting place for this show than here. The venue is packed to the brim, every inch of space filled with people who have been following this band for years. From the moment the lights dimmed and the opening chords of “Room To Breathe” rang out, I could feel the rush of adrenaline hit me like a freight train. Everyone around me is losing it, screaming every word back at the band like their lives depend on it. And honestly, it kind of feels like it does.
The band steps out, and damn, they look more alive than ever. Josh Franceschi, the frontman, is absolutely on fire tonight. His energy is contagious—he’s feeding off the crowd, and we’re feeding off him right back. “Belfast! You ready to make tonight something special?!” he shouts, and the whole place just erupts. You could tell they knew this tour meant something different. This isn’t just another show; this is the final chapter of something legendary. And they’re going all out.
The setlist? Perfect. They’re pulling out all the hits from Take Off Your Colours right through to Sucker Punch and VI. “Loverboy” hits hard, the crowd bouncing with every word. “Stay With Me”? Holy hell. It’s like the whole room turned into one massive, unified voice—everyone singing it like their hearts are on the line. Every song feels like it’s loaded with emotion, with nostalgia, and honestly, you can tell this band means every note they’re playing tonight.
But what really hits you is the connection. Josh is up there, and he’s not just performing. He’s living every lyric, sharing these moments with us. There’s a real closeness to it all, like this is a farewell, but not just to the fans, to each other as well. And then when the opening chords of “Lived A Lie” ring out? The whole place shakes. Everyone’s screaming, arms up in the air, singing every word like it’s their last. It’s pure magic.
And don’t even get me started on “SUCKAPUNCH.” The way it builds and crescendos, you can just feel the emotion pouring off the stage. You can tell this is a band that’s poured their heart and soul into every song they’ve written. You can feel it in every word Josh sings, every note they play.
The final song? Well, they saved the best for last. “Underdog.” The place goes nuts. It’s loud, it’s emotional, and it’s absolutely perfect. Everyone’s screaming at the top of their lungs, and you can just tell that this is one of those moments we’ll all look back on and know we were part of something bigger.
The lights go down, the band takes a bow, and the crowd’s still buzzing. It’s the kind of show you can’t put into words—not really. You had to be there. You had to feel the energy. The love. The passion.
I don’t know what’s next for You Me At Six, but tonight was something special. I’ll carry it with me forever. Thank you, You Me At Six. You’ve given us everything. And Belfast? We gave it right back. How can a band make a call and walk away from nights like this? that’s for You Me At Six to decide, but you’ll always be welcome back in Belfast.
