The track showcases XCOMM’s ability to channel raw aggression with visceral precision and is the perfect appetizer for their upcoming full-length album that is due to hit early next year (more on that coming soon). Working with the producer behind era-defining records from Glassjaw, Slipknot, and Korn, the band captured performances that pulse with authentic menace. Robinson explains “XCOMM is the wild zone. It’s bad-ass Venice Beach kids ripping with absolute fury. I felt so alive recording this one—kids screaming, flying around the studio, laying down raw performances making their world come alive.” The band recently signed to underground champions Blowed Out Records, the incubator-like brainchild of Ross Robinson, Ghostemane, and Bill Armstrong. They’ll showcase their explosive live presence this weekend at Louder Than Life, where LEO Weekly dubbed them one of the “10 Under The Radar Bands You Need To See,” noting: “XCOMM does not fuck around! This is straight up hardcore skate punk in the vein of early Suicidal Tendencies, Minor Threat, and Black Flag.” With their debut album arriving early next year, XCOMM position themselves as torchbearers for hardcore’s next evolution—one that respects the past while obliterating any notion that new bands can’t slay the old way whilst simultaneously breaking new creative ground. |
