WOLVES – UK Mathcore Outfit Premiere New Video for “Leeches!”

UK mathcore outfit Wolves have just unleashed the explosive new single “Leeches!”, and it’s premiering now at Echoes and Dust. Taken from their upcoming debut full-length, Self Titled, due out September 5th via Ripcord Records, the track captures the band at their most feral and focused.

Echoes and Dust describes Leeches!” as: “A full-throttle rager, ‘Leeches!’ explodes with breathless urgency, tearing through discordant riffs, chaotic breakdowns, and throat-shredding, call-and-response vocals. Channelling the wild-eyed fury of Every Time I Die, The Chariot and Better Lovers, this is Wolves at their most direct and unrelenting — all snarl, swing, and controlled chaos.”

“I came across a few stories around the same time of people being groomed by those in power to do their dirty work and take the rap for it,” explains lyricist and lead vocalist Ryan Tyrrell. “That’s where the line ‘take aim, take name, take blame’ came from. The idea that someone finds a role model and follows them blindly to the ends of the earth — without applying their own thought process — that scares the hell out of me.”

The new video follows the band’s lead single “Reformed (Try Love)”, premiered by Heavy Blog Is Heavy, who praised it as: “Urgent, alarming, and cathartic: a reflection of the band’s tumultuous history and fury at the horrifying rise of xenophobia in the United Kingdom.”

Formed in 2016, Wolves is the culmination of over a decade of chaotic riffs, bloodied stages, and shared history. Born from bands like BludgerFinish Him!EFK, and Ashes of Maybelle, and featuring members who’ve played with Hundred Year Old ManConjurerThe Grey and more, Wolves emerged as a full-force unit shaped by scars, trust, and unfinished business.

Their debut EP, Gone Are The White Flags, captured their raw energy, leading to wild live shows alongside Sectioned, LLNN, Renounced, and others. After pandemic delays, Wolves regrouped in 2021 to create Self Titled, a ten-track blast of Every Time I Die swagger, post-metal atmosphere, and Dillinger-grade chaos.

Self Titled is the culmination of years of chaos, reinvention, and ferocious live shows. Stay tuned for more updates as Wolves prepare to unleash one of the year’s most vital records. Pre-orders are now available at this location.
