Wolves In The Throne Room new album Estuary – Out Today

WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM NEW ALBUM
ESTUARY

OUT TODAY VIA CENTURY MEDIA & RELAPSE RECORDS

TOUR BEGINS TODAY

Kings of USBM, Wolves In The Throne Room, have returned with sharpened teeth on their new album, Estuary, out today via Century Media Records outside the USA and Canada and Relapse Records in the USA and Canada.

The band comments: “The record is set 1,000 years in the future. Survivors of a cataclysm wander the haunted ruins. It is a world of mutant creatures and open portals. Post-apocalyptic religion takes form in a wild landscape.”

Estuary is raw and volatile, infused with the stormy sensuality of noisy industrial elements while unfolding through realms of warm rain, majestic forests, and diffused starlight. Massive percussion and seething gothic guitars wipe the listener’s psyche clear of stagnation, transforming them into active conduits of evolution.

Starting today, Wolves In The Throne Room will open portals across the UK and Europe on the Knights of Tiamat Tour, with support from Worm and Final Dose, before bringing the album to U.S. audiences in early 2027.

“Rewilding has never sounded so good”
Kerrang!

“Unmatched.”
The Quietus

The band has the following to share about the tour’s title, Knights of Tiamat, which is taken from a song on Estuary: “Temples of the ancient future feed on repurposed electrical grids pulsing with new magic. The spirit of place takes new forms.”

The song is based on a nocturnal vision from Kody Keyworth (guitar, vocals): “I had a dream two years ago while we were on tour in Germany. In the distant future, the small number of humans who remained lived in small tribes that deeply revered and worshipped gigantic, decrepit wind turbines. Without knowing what these structures were or their original purpose, these people placed immense importance on one of the last remaining relics of industrialized society. The new religions and mythologies that would emerge from this fascinated me. I found it deeply moving, and it helped inspire my vision of what that world might mean for humanity after the fall.”

Dive deeper into the album’s dystopian concept by watching the band’s previously released videos for “Ghosts Among the Obelisks” and the album’s title track.
