New Single From Teenage Metal Upstarts Out Now / Streaming & Music Video

This time last year, London / Essex teenage metal upstarts Within Reach put the UK metal scene firmly on notice with their huge single Armageddon. Following the release of Armageddon, they had a year of playing shows all across the UK, gaining valuable live experience and attracting enough attention to make it to The Final Ten of Kerrang Radio’s “The Deal” contest.

Having taken the time to craft their next move carefully, Within Reach have returned with their blistering new single Drip Fed. With a pummelling twin guitar, full pace intro, Drip Fed comes out of the blocks at 100mph and never stops. It’s fast, it’s melodic, it’s heavy, sometimes it’s all of these things at once! A song that grabs your attention from first note to last, Drip Fed will be slamming its way onto headphones and speakers all over the country.

Within Reach bassist Cam Gratton explains why Drip Fed is such an important song for the band and the journey they’ve been on to get the song released:

“This song was such a struggle to put out, it was just countless setbacks and we knew we had something special with the track so we didn’t want to waste it. We got the final mix of the track back late last year, and after some resolving some issues and two music videos later, we finally felt like it was ready to be put out. 

It definitely felt like a step into newer territory for us musically, and we wanted it to be the first track to push our sound forward. It’s got both some of our most melodic moments and the heaviest moments we’ve done so far.

We’ve been very slow with writing and releasing music but we finally feel like we’re at a place now where we’re able to put our focus into stepping into a new era of the band, and Drip Fed is just the pre-cursor to something really special that we’re beginning to work on…“

Having had a busy Summer of shows and festivals already, playing with the likes of Waterlines, Eschalon, Rituals, Kid Bookie and more, Within Reach have a few more live dates coming over the horizon. They’ll be at The Fighting Cocks in Kingston to support Love Is Noise on September 12th, and the week after at Sheffield Corporation for Amplified Festival. They also have a headline show at The Black Prince in Northampton in October. Full details are below:

About Within Reach

Within Reach are a young melodic metalcore 5-piece hailing from London/Essex. Part of a modern movement that will shape the next generation of heavy music in the UK, the band are intent on pushing the genre forward with their high-energy, fast paced and emotive brand of metal.

In Summer 2023 the dark fashion brand Mary Wyatt used their track “In My Eyes“ in social media ads for their official merchandise collaboration campaign with Download Festival, shown on the main stage screens at the event. Towards the end of the year the band released their debut EP “Pariah”, featuring lead singles “Plead” and “Shadows”, both received with high praise. In December the band were invited to Essen, Germany to play at Curtain Call alongside The Narrator and Elwood Stray; not only their first show outside of the UK, but their 2nd show anywhere, having headlined their debut live show only the week before at a very busy Brewhouse in Colchester. 

2024 saw Within Reach hit the road for live shows supporting Crushed By Waves among other bands, and dropping their powerhouse single Armageddon. Championed by Kerrang Radio’s Alex Baker among others who awarded them featured artist of the week on his Fresh Blood show, Within Reach were hailed as a metalcore force. 

2025 has seen the band play shows alongside Oceans Ate Alaska, Hacktivist, Kid Bookie & more, solidifying themselves as one of the UK’s most exciting young bands as well as making it to the final round of Kerrang Radio’s “The Deal” contest to play Download Festival.

With new music on the horizon and a raft of live shows coming up, this is just the start of an exciting future for Within Reach.
