LONDON, U.K. – Two-time JUNO Award-winning singer-songwriter William Prince today releases ‘Damn’, a striking new single that offers a raw meditation on love, loss, and resilience (stream/download here). The song is the third preview from his highly anticipated forthcoming album, Further From the Country, out October 17 via Six Shooter Records (pre-save the album here).

Following the success of his 2023 release Stand in the Joy, which earned the JUNO Award for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year, Prince’s new work marks a bold step forward. Further From the Country expands his sonic palette and lyrical scope, weaving together themes of grief, identity, ambition, and memory. Drawing on his upbringing in Peguis First Nation, Manitoba, Prince transforms childhood reflections, joyful and difficult alike, into music that speaks powerfully to the complexities of today’s world.

Further From the Country is produced by Liam Duncan (aka Boy Golden), Prince’s labelmate and trusted creative partner, who also worked with Prince on his Spotify Singles Session in 2023. Together, they crafted a rich sonic landscape with contributions from Prince’s longtime bandmates and members of Duncan’s “Church of Better Daze” collective. The album was recorded in Winnipeg and features performances from a hometown ensemble including Alyshia Grace, Cody Iwasiuk, Ben Plotnick, Kristopher Ulrich, and more.

Prince’s career continues to soar, with performances on CBS Saturday Morning and NPR’s Tiny Desk, appearances at the Newport Folk Festival, Stagecoach, and the Grand Ole Opry, and support slots for Neil Young, Willie Nelson, and The War and Treaty. His songs have also been featured in Yellowstone and other acclaimed productions. In 2024, Prince was nominated for Emerging Artist of the Year at the Americana Honors & Awards, solidifying his place as one of today’s most essential voices in roots and Americana music.
