SPECIAL HEADLINE SHOWS IN MAY
SUPPORTING BLUE OYSTER CULT @ LONDON PALLADIUM – MAY 25TH When Rivers Meet have released ‘Never Change’, the third single from their upcoming new studio album, entitled Addicted To You. ‘Never Change’ dances in on a skipping beat, with Grace Bond’s warm and seductive vocals enticing the listener to stand strong in their power and presence. Like the album’s title track it’s a song that reflects the deep emotional connection between husband and wife duo, Grace and Aaron, which fuels their creative partnership as When Rivers Meet. “’Never Change’ is about staying true to each other in a relationship, even when doubts or challenges arise,” reveals Grace. “It’s about trusting the love and connection that burns between us, refusing to let outside influences change who we are together. The song is a reminder to stand firm in what we have and never lose sight of our bond, no matter what comes our way.” Newly-expanded to become a six-piece band – both on record and on stage – When Rivers Meet have dramatically built on their signature blues-rock sound for their fourth album, bringing an incredible array of new sonic textures and an atmospheric and intriguing production which showcases the ambitious and dynamic music. FURTHER INFORMATION
When Rivers Meet have a unique sound defying genres, fusing the raw power of blues-rock, the storytelling soul of Americana, and the heartfelt intimacy of folk. Their music is gritty, soulful, and electrifying, with Grace’s powerhouse vocals and Aaron’s dynamic musicianship creating something truly unforgettable. Whether harmonising in haunting unison or trading lead vocals, their voices create a magnetic dynamic that sets them apart. On Addicted To You they have taken their songwriting, sound and ambition to new heights, fueled with passion and electrifying with power. It’s an album that sets its sights on ever-greater success and will find the band a global audience who resonate with its heart and soul.Recorded in The Boathouse Studio, Suffolk and produced and mixed by Adam Bowers, it dramatically expands the band’s signature blues-rock sound, bringing an incredible array of new sonic textures and an atmospheric and intriguing production which showcases the ambitious and dynamic music When Rivers Meet have crafted.Lead single and title track, ‘Addicted To You’, kicks off the album, riding in on an insistent guitar riff with Grace and Aaron Bond’s double vocals laying a tantalising trail until the euphoric chorus kicks in. A gloriously catchy and instantly memorable rock classic, the official video finds the husband-and-wife dual vocalists sharing the limelight in equal measure as they explore hidden spaces, wintery landscapes, industrial ruins and sacred fires.Second single ‘Break Free’ is a raw and rousing rock song, ‘built on on a thumping four-to-the-floor drum beat and strident guitar riff, with Aaron Bond taking lead vocal duties. Boasting an explosive chorus, and a psychedelic middle-eight, its video finds him incarcerated in a police cell and going mad in prison, whilst desperate for the sanctuary of breaking free into wide open spaces.Album tracks such as the outstanding ‘Coming Up For Air’, with its evocative soundscape and subtle piano signatures demonstrate how When Rivers Meet have grown on this release. The swampy, sliding blues of ‘Still Standing’ boasts a huge singalong chorus, while ‘Preacher’ is oozing with dirty, funk hooks and Grace’s impassioned vocal lead, declaring a state of independence. Elsewhere the moving ballad ‘Tree Of Life’, the skittery KT Tunstall-vibes of ‘Never Change’ and the soaring folk-rock epic of ‘Don’t Wanna Fight’, showcase an album of depth, experience and musical dexterity which will delight existing fans and entrance new listeners to the band. On ‘Soft White Sand’ the pair take aim at the jealous comments, music industry bullshit and negative jibes they’ve heard over the years as they’ve forged their own, independent path forwards gaining an Official Albums Charts UK Top 10 album with their last release ‘Aces Are High’, as a result of having built their own, fervent fanbase. And they pay tribute to those fans, The Rapids, with the self-titled closing number ‘When Rivers Meet’, stating, “Your energy and passion lift us up, just like rapids shaping the course of a river. This song is our way of honouring the powerful connection we share with you.” The album is available to pre-order now on vinyl, CD and digital-download HERE ADDICTED TO YOU – Album Credits
