| Today, Tel Aviv alt-metal force WALKWAYS have unveiled their brand new single ‘A Virus. Prove Me Wrong‘ alongside an official lyric video. The track is the latest release to be taken from their long-awaited third album A Reminder, scheduled for release on 28th August via Wild Thing Records. ‘A Virus. Prove Me Wrong’ is a vicious indictment of humanity’s self-appointed supremacy. The song drags greed, dominance, and endless consumption into the open, framing mankind as a parasite feeding on life while calling itself intelligent. Snarling with accusation and self-loathing, it dares us to break our addiction to extinction or accept the truth that we are the virus, and always have been. On the new single, vocalist Ran Yerushalmi shares:
“This song comes from rage and disgust, but also responsibility. It’s about what happens when power, appetite, and entitlement go unchecked, and we start treating everything around us as disposable – including life itself. ‘A Virus. Prove Me Wrong’ isn’t pointing fingers from above; it’s forcing us to look straight at ourselves and decide whether we’re capable of being more than what we’ve become.” Watch the lyric video to ‘A Virus. | Following the international impact of their sophomore album Bleed Out, Heal Out (Nuclear Blast, 2019), WALKWAYS enter a new, deeply introspective chapter with their forthcoming album A Reminder. It’s the band’s most intimate and resolute statement to date – a meditation on relapse and recovery, rage and acceptance, and the quiet endurance required to keep breathing. Moving between crushing intensity and moments of fragile calm, the album blends groove-driven alternative metal with cinematic depth, confronting trauma, inner demons, and transformation. Every wound is a reminder to heal. Speaking on his feelings about the new album, vocalist Ran Yerushalmi warmly and simply states:
“I wish I had this album to listen to back when I was extremely troubled and had no-one to hold on to.” Formed by Yerushalmi and guitarist Bar Caspi, WALKWAYS grew from a formative songwriting partnership into a fully realised force with the addition of guitarist Yoni Menner. The lineup was completed by bassist Avihai Levy and drummer Priel Horesh (the band’s lineup until this day), solidifying the group’s identity ahead of their acclaimed independent debut Safe In Sound and their impactful sophomore album Bleed Out, Heal Out (Nuclear Blast). From the point forward, WALKWAYS rapidly ascended within the Israeli metal scene while drawing increasing global attention. The band have toured extensively throughout Europe and the UK, most recently supporting Australia’s Ne Obliviscaris in 2024. WALKWAYS have also been hand-picked as direct support for internationally renowned acts including Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Jinjer, In Flames, Devin Townsend, Memphis May Fire and The Omnific. Festival appearances include Wacken Open Air (DE – 3rd appearance in 2024), Hellfest (FR), Euroblast (DE), Free For All (DE), Reeperbahn Festival (DE), ArtMania (RO), and Tbilisi Jam Fest (GE). Stay tuned for more WALKWAYS updates in the near future. |
