The early stages of writing that would become Vulnere begin in 2017 with drummer Cody Pulliam and guitarist Mike Ashton. The goal was to create death metal with the aggression and complexity inspired by countless brutal death metal and technical grind releases of the mid 2000’s/early 2010’s. Vocal duties were soon filled by Mark Smith, and shows commenced as a three piece, offering something unique and crushingly heavy.

After the 2020 release of Igneous, Vulnere got to work on writing their next full length record. During the writing process, three songs stood out from the others and in September of 2022, tracking began for a separate release that would become “Toothed Lines”. Lots of hands were on the production of this record; Drum tracking was handled by Charlie Koryn (Ascended Dead/Incantation) and vocals tracking was handled by Spencer Linn at Abyssal Lair. Guitar and bass were tracked at Beastman Audio by Leon Del Muerte, while mixing and mastering were tackled at Merrowsound by Keith Merrow. Vulnere will be releasing the “Toothed Lines” EP on today. Released in collaboration with Total Dissonance Worship.
