VON LOOP
‘LEAFY GREENS’
NEW SINGLE OUT 12/7/24
Von Loop are an energetic alternative rock group from Bangor, Northern Ireland. Musically they present a spectrum of emotion, from passionate calls for societal change, to ironic tongue in cheek satire – no stone should be left unturned in an attempt to provide inclusion and relatability through being genuinely vulnerable, passionate and fierce – commonalities we all share. The band has shared a long friendship and had made music originally for themselves as a bonding experience and a cathartic outlet – developing a catalogue they now wish to share, starting with their debut release ‘Strap’ and more recently with their last singles ‘I’ve Got A Light’, ‘Folklore’, ‘Yo-Yo’, ‘
In the current climate, where segregation, isolation and artificiality are the norm, Von Loop wishes to be the opposite of that mindset, promoting vibes of unity through raw energy, to confront the control of freedoms and peace. Their music has roots in the concept of liberty and the wish for all beings to be able to live the lives they value. They invite you to dance while they light the fire!

“Leafy Greens is a tongue and cheek commentary on the political culture in Northern Ireland. It’s a call out to the redundancy of conditioned scapegoat energy, which is viewed with pride for many, who really don’t want the responsibility of the change required to move towards actual achievable peace. The reference to leafy greens, seizing the means of production and overthrowing the King came from a reflection on the irony how movements who’s core principles are compassion, can be viewed as threatening, shaking people’s cultivated identity to a point where it’s felt as some sort of enforced moral communism. An analysis that is as hilarious as it is potentially dangerous. The song is taking the piss out of automatic identity responses and deflected passions. It calls to question how we manage to find comfort in conflict, and threat with peace. The song is ironic, contradictory, sarcastic and hypocritical. Anti propaganda, propaganda. A song that allows you to dance like a Stańczyk fool in the King’s court. Leafy Greens, we like our knees”. – Von Loop
