Praise for Tuxis Giant and You Won’t Remember This

“Having limited themselves to the US Northeast DIY scene since 2015’s self-titled debut and flown under the radar, it’s time the band came out too, and show the world what they’re capable of” – Mojo ★★★★

“‘You Won’t Remember This’ takes such moments of vulnerability and invests them with power. You won’t forget it anytime soon.”  –
The Line of Best Fit ★★★★

“Worth repeated listens for anyone with the patience to absorb the bands’ gently unfolding narrative” – Shindig!

“One of Boston’s most quietly powerful bands.” – Allston Pudding

“Rich, intricate songwriting with a quiet emotional punch.” – Various Small Flames

“An unflinching blend of vulnerability, resilience, and beauty.” – The Alternative

Tuxis Giant have today released their sixth record, You Won’t Remember This, via Worry Bead Records.

The album is available to stream and purchase now HERE.

From the opening clicks of “Simple Days” to the lingering harmonies of closer “What’s Going On in Your Mind”, You Won’t Remember This traces a path through memory, transformation, and the fragile magic that binds us. While its title may sound self-effacing, the album is anything but forgettable – threading moments of pain and relief into something quietly transcendent.

Across its thirteen tracks, songwriter and frontperson Matt O’Connor (they/them) moves between the intimate and the universal, sketching vivid, emotionally complex scenes with enviable economy. The songs range from the weary-yet-playful “Days” to “Silver Cup,” a deeply personal meditation on gender euphoria, and “Huey”, a karaoke-night ode to resilience and small joys. The record’s most autobiographical moment, “Heart Surgery”, preserves the fragmentary memories of O’Connor’s mother’s open heart operation, pairing emotional rawness with understated arrangements.

Recorded with longtime bandmates Eleanor Elektra (lead guitar, vocals), Fenn Macon (bass), and James Steinberg (drums), the album expands the project’s alt-country roots into territory that’s equally road-worn and dreamlike. Influences range from Smog to Yo La Tengo, Uncle Tupelo to Hayao Miyazaki’s films – each leaving their own subtle imprint on the band’s melodic and thematic palette.

Summing up the album, Matt O’Connor said: “This album was a big, collaborative labor of love. We wrote it together, arranged it live, and recorded it in the dead of winter, pummelled by snow squalls in a house with a shoddy wiring. We’re so proud of this thing, and so excited for people to hear it.”

Following singles “Last Laugh”, “Silver Cup”, “Huey”, and “Days”, the full album further reveals You Won’t Remember This as a collection of songs that feel lived-in, but open-ended, rooted in small-scale honesty and transformed by emotional reach.
