Hailing from the mountainous climes of Transylvania, Romania Treasondom have been delivering their violent sonic assault since 2017 – a potent amalgam of grind, thrash, death and crust with an acerbic and insightful lyrical approach, railing at the hypocrisy and selfishness of mankind. The breathtaking ride through the ruins of civilisation begins with ‘Everyone Is Dead Or Dying’ – an instant injection of adrenaline that sets the heart racing – and from there The Flesh Consumes The Mind flows beautifully, an unstoppable juggernaut of power. From the methodical destruction of ‘Spitting Feathers’ to the grinding ferocity of ‘Revolution Eats Its Children’ the impact of each and every song is colossal. Yet for all the energy and unbridled force what resonates most deeply about The Flesh Consumes The Mind is the quality of the song writing. These are not just nail bomb explosions of glorious devastation; they are also superbly constructed, memorable songs with individual character and atmosphere, armed to the teeth with brilliant, frenetic drumming and more great riffs than most bands can dream of. Be it the tolling bell of ‘Rites Of Loss’, a summoning to our end, an interlude of pure grief for all we have lost that is ripped apart by the fury of ‘Cathedral For Thieves’, the jagged Voivod touched riffs of ‘Progress’ that take us on an interstellar journey to the bleak outposts of mankind’s pursuit of self destruction or the intricate thrashing and massive doomed death march of ‘No Shores At The End’, the songs that make up this stunning album will draw you back, time and time again.
