Toys That Bïte play the kind of heavy rock that grew up on Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith and DIO, with a focus on big hooks rather than nostalgia.
On their debut album “You Have Been Warned”, out 6th March, they lean into twin guitars, punchy tempos and choruses built to be shouted back.
Formed in 2022 around a long-running writing partnership, the band stepped out of the practice room in 2024 for a rock weekender in Ilfracombe – a first show that led directly to their distribution deal. The band recorded the album at Axe & Trap Studios in Wells, Somerset, with producer/engineer Ben Turner (Part Chimp, Hey Colossus, Mark Lanegan), then sent it to Grammy-nominated producer/mixer Romesh Dodangoda (Motörhead, Bring Me The Horizon, Funeral For A Friend, Bullet For My Valentine) at Long Wave Studios in Wales. The result is a debut album that sounds like a fully formed band rather than a first experiment, introduced by the 2025 lead single and video “Toys That Bïte”.
“You Have Been Warned” leans into life’s recognisable moments with tongues firmly in cheeks. The title track delivers on its promise of nothing but a good time, “Genius Level Stupid” dives into bad choices and worse ideas, and “Last Train To Hell” runs on that feeling of staying out one step too long. “Hit That Like” takes aim at online posturing before “Pour Me A Whiskey” closes things out with a last orders singalong. It’s a straight-ahead heavy rock record made by people who still care about riffs, stories and giving a crowd something real to shout back – which is exactly why their growing fanbase, the Biters, are already on board and getting louder.
