New York, NY (May 10, 2024) – Producer, songwriter, musician, and award-winning composer for TV and film, Tommee Profitt has released his latest masterpiece, Covers, Vol. 2 available today, May 10 across all digital streaming platforms. Profitt’s cinematic interpretations of pop culture classics started with his 2020 release of Covers (Vol. 1) album that included his take on Linkin Park’s “In The End” which resulted in over 85 Billion views + streams overall, receiving  placement on Spotify’s Viral 50 chart in 23 countries.

Profitt is offering up another gift for Linkin Park fans today. In addition to the album release, Profitt released a gorgeous, string filled music video, premiered by Billboard, for his cinematic version of one of Linkin Park’s best-selling tracks, “Numb” featuring the emotionally charged, beautiful vocals of Skylar Grey.

Skylar Grey reflects “Multiple people had been telling me “you should work with Tommee Profitt” since I really love working in the cinematic music space… and he’s the best in the biz! So we finally connected over instagram and made it happen. I’ve had writers block for about a year so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to release a cover of one of my favorite Linkin Park songs. Linkin Park signed me to my very first record deal when I was 18, and I got to tag along on tour with them for a while, so there’s a huge nostalgic connection there.”

“I connected with Skylar a few years ago, and it was instantly clear that we both loved making cinematic music for movies and TV shows. Skylar’s voice is perfect for the kind of music I love to produce. When I told her I was working on a covers album, we started brainstorming on what song we could do together, and it didn’t take long for “Numb” by Linkin Park to come up. I could hear exactly in my head how her voice would sound on it… and yet she still over delivered. We wanted it to be both raw and beautiful, while climbing to an epic conclusion… it definitely feels like a movie! And the emotional depth of Skylar’s performance brings that to life in a way that most couldn’t. Her voice is so unique, and was definitely meant for this song; this was a perfect first collab!” adds Profitt.

The 10-tracks on Covers, Vol. 2 includes iconic hits reimagined with a soul-stirring twist. From the haunting rendition of “Cry Me A River” featuring the enchanting vocals of Nicole Serrano, to the electrifying energy of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” accompanied by William Joseph’s mesmerizing piano, each track on this album delivers a fresh perspective on beloved classics. Nashville artist Fleurie, who is featured on “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” breathes new life into the song, while singer-songwriter Crowder, featured on Sia’s “The Greatest,” adds a powerful touch. The record includes an eclectic blend of talent including Skylar Grey on Linkin Park’s “NUMB,” Ruelle on Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris” plus more. This collection of covers, ranging from the timeless from Franz Schubert’s “Ave Maria” that features Stanaj to the evocative “Mad World,” by Tears for Fears offers a symphony of emotions that resonates long after the final note fades away.
