And he can fricking sing like a bad ass at the same time. Wow.” – Stone Gossard (Pearl Jam) 23rd January, 2026 – Loosegroove Records’ UK rock trio Tigercub return with explosive new single and video ‘I’m Breaking Out’, marking the dawn of what promises to be a defining year in modern rock. The track arrives on the heels of the band’s announcement of their fourth studio album, Nets To Catch The Wind, set for release April 10, 2026 and available now for pre-order. The band’s devoted fanbase has already demonstrated themselves, hacking into pre-sales and triggering vinyl orders earlier than scheduled. It’s a testament to Tigercub’s growing impact on the global rock landscape, an influence that has intensified with every release and tour, positioning them as one of the most vital and forward-thinking rock bands of the last decade. As Tigercub gear up for their largest London headline show to date at Koko, the band stands at the forefront of a new wave of UK rock exports gaining international momentum. And if tradition won’t claim it, fans will: 2026 is now officially the Year of the Tiger. One of the most direct rock songs Tigercub have written, new single ‘I’m Breaking Out’ channels emotional tension into blistering hooks. Singer Jamie Hall explains: “I’m trying to navigate someone’s emotions like unfamiliar water, studying their tides, searching for what moves beneath the surface, trying to get past the façade. But I can’t, and the song is ultimately about giving myself permission to stop trying” Tracked over nine days at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales (home to iconic recordings by Queen, Rush, and Oasis) Nets To Catch The Wind captures Tigercub at their most cinematic, visceral, and unrestrained. Many core takes were captured live, foregrounding the raw chemistry of vocalist/guitarist Jamie Hall, bassist Jimi Wheelwright, and drummer James Allix, and resulting in an album that feels both immediate and transcendent. Produced by Tom Dalgety (Royal Blood, Ghost, Pixies), the record pushes the trio into expansive, textured territories, exploring dynamics, space, and emotion with more depth than ever before. The album also expands Tigercub’s sonic world with a co-write from Dom Craik of Nothing But Thieves and a spoken-word performance from Neil Fallon of Clutch. Loosegroove Records co-founder and Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard played a pivotal creative role. Known for sculpting genre-defining rock music for over three decades, Gossard offered sharp insight and grounding perspective throughout the process. “Stone was there every step of the way,” Hall says. “He helped us zoom out and see the bigger picture when we were lost in the details.” Gossard adds: “I’d put Jamie Hall’s winding mega riffs up against anyone in rock. And he can fricking sing like a bad ass at the same time. Wow.” Frontman Jamie Hall describes the philosophical core of the album with striking clarity: “Our last record, The Perfume of Decay, was our midnight confession. A gothic heavy-metal record steeped in anxiety and noise. Nets To Catch The Wind is the dawn that follows…the white light record set in the space between dreaming and waking. We built whole worlds out of darkness. This record is about learning to live in the light even when you know it will not last.” |
