Roadrunner Records recently welcomed TheBoyShadow, featuring former Loathe guitarist Connor Sweeney, to the label’s roster. And now, TheBoyShadow unveils the video for the new single ‘Bliss Being.’
‘Bliss Being’ marks a stylistic shift from the project’s sonically intense debut single, ‘GIVE ME A SEAM & I’LL SHOW YOU THE MEANING.’ While the debut delivered two minutes of raw, unrelenting aggression—like steel grinding against steel, punctuated by dynamic, moody shifts – ‘Bliss Being’ explores a more spacious and atmospheric sound.
The track unfolds at a masterful mid-tempo pace, leaning into melody before erupting in its final third with visceral intensity, ultimately settling back into softer tones. The result is a strikingly unpredictable and dynamic composition.
Upon release, TheBoyShadow’s debut release was met with widespread acclaim. Rock Sound described it as “as much dizzying hardcore as ethereal shoegaze… one hell of an opening gambit.” Revolver named it one of its essential songs of the week, highlighting its “furious rhythms and noise-pressed guitar dissonance,” alongside its sweeping sonic shift. Kerrang! simply called it “brutal.”
TheBoyShadow has been a four-year creative journey, during which the artist transformed introspection into artistic fuel. Personal struggles were processed and channelled into the music, supported by a close-knit community of collaborators.

The project performed its first live show at Camden Assembly on April 6th in London. The band has also recently completed a tour supporting PRESIDENT on their sold-out run.
