THE THING WITH FEATHERS RELEASE HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED NEW EP WASTE MY REVENGE
Today, (7th April) Nashville’s The Thing With Feathers release their brand new EP Waste My Revenge. Underneath the pop hooks and angsty indie lyrics there is an unapologetic, punk ethos in the nature of The Thing With Feathers, whilst they continue to blend their affinity for artists such as The 1975 and The Strokes. The Thing With Feathers are an alt-rock, indie pop and dance powerhouse, driven by David Welcsh (vocals), Alex Hendricks (lead guitar) and Chris Roussell (drums). With all tracks from their upcoming EP gaining recognition from the likes of The Independent, Chalk Pit and Live Nation as well as being on rotation with MTVs Spankin’ New, The Thing With Feathers are truly ones to look out for as they settle into the UK music scene.
When speaking of the EP, frontman David says, “I think our other bodies of work are difficult to compare because I love our first record. I think that the difference is we really started to learn who we are and who we can be while we were making this EP. It was invigorating. I mean after we recorded we really haven’t been able to stop writing. It’s almost as if something just clicked during that process and now we just sort of know when something sounds like us. We’re definitely an ambitious band and we are never going to stop searching for a greater understanding of what it means to sound like us and how our sound will develop. We’re always going to be chasing the next song. This record felt like we found a cornerstone”
With Kyle Dreaden (Bre Kennedy, Jake Wesley Rogers) on production duties, the intimate understanding of the band’s authentic sound really helped the team create something special. Chasing creativity, the band were instilled with confidence and have truly performed their best.
In support of their previous releases, The Thing With Feathers released a series of music videos directed by Hannah Hall, the same director behind their previous videos for ‘Lights Down Low’, ‘Sundays in the South’, ‘Waste My Revenge’ and ‘Everything I’m Missing’
