In 2023, The Sherlocks achieved their highest chart position to date when ‘People Like You & Me’ crashed in at #4 – and their huge following was underlined when they subsequently played their biggest headline show so far at Sheffield’s Don Valley Bowl. After three Top 10 albums, the band then worked on a follow-up and found that they were gravitating towards the biggest music they’d ever made – gargantuan anthems with a stature built for arenas and beyond. So, they set themselves a huge ambition for an entirely independent band: to take their new album ‘Everything Must Make Sense!’ all the way to #1, which is out now. Listen HERE.
Whether you’re talking creatively or with a constantly packed schedule, The Sherlocks are not a band to sit still. And ‘Everything Must Make Sense!’ represents a fresh step forward for the quartet, with a set that takes their indie-rock roots as the launchpad for an accomplished new collection that takes in driving synth-rock energy, ragged melodic rock ‘n’ roll, a moment of acoustic introspection, and big riffs and bigger beats – all delivered with their finest musicianship so far.
The Sherlocks recorded the album with producer David Radhad-Jones after they enjoyed collaborating with him on ‘Remember All The Girls’ from the ‘People Like You & Me’ album.
Vocalist/guitarist Kiaran Crook says, “This album feels different to any other album we’ve done before. I know it’s cliché, but it’s true, the songs are so varied. I feel like we’re at a point where we’re so comfortable in our own identity that we can allow ourselves to try ideas and not be afraid of the outcome as it’s inevitably gonna end up sounding like us. I feel like it’s an album the fans will really get behind when they finally hear and certainly one that’s going to surprise a lot of people. Get ready.”
Drummer Brandon Crook adds, “I had a great time recording the album with David, it was a pleasure to work with someone so full of ideas, professional and zero ego. From a personal point of view on the drums it was definitely the most demanding album I’ve ever recorded. I was pushed to new heights, but I’m so glad as the record sounds incredible! The fans are going to be blown away. A lot of bands have to say their new album is the best, but this really is our best album to date. We are getting stronger and stronger every album. It’s an exciting time for the band! Can’t wait to get on the road and play these songs live.”
The Sherlocks have also pulled out all the stops for the ‘Everything Must Make Sense!’ album formats, all of which are available now. A striking zoetrope vinyl edition, issued by Blood Records, has already almost sold-out but other quality formats include a signed jigsaw-style picture disc; a cream vinyl; and a green-and-yellow splatter vinyl which is available via select indie stores. Bundles from their official store also add options for an A4 album artwork print, a new t-shirt, and black vinyl, CD and cassette formats.
The Sherlocks have just finished an extensive European headline tour, and then embarked on a headline UK tour with Record Instore Signings as listed below.
