2023 has seen
The Sherlocks reach a new level with the release of their fourth album
‘People Like Me & You’. Greeted by fresh
Radio 1 airplay from
Jordan & Vick and
Jack Saunders, the record became the highest-charting of their career to date as it debuted at
#4 on the
Official Album Chart as well as topping the
Official Record Store Chart. Those good times continued through to their recent
UK headline tour, which included riotous receptions and multiple sold-out shows across the
UK.
Yet there’s much more to come in 2024. The Sherlocks are set to play the biggest headline show of their career so far at the Don Valley Bowl in Sheffield on June 7th, 2024. The 7500-capacity gig will see the band and their fans come together to celebrate everything they have achieved. Not only is a relative homecoming, the venue being just a few miles south of where the Crook brothers, Kiaran (vocals/guitar) and Brandon (drums), were raised in Bolton upon Dearne, but it also coincides with the 10th anniversary of their first release, the early demo of ‘Live For The Moment’.
Kiaran says, “We can’t wait! It’s something that’s needed to happen for a while now and next year is the perfect time. We’ve got four albums under our belt now and the fans have taken this journey to the next level for us. It’s only right we repay them with a proper day out and a memorable gig that will go down in our own history.”
Tickets are now on general sale and are available from The Sherlocks’ official website and from BuyTickets. Sales have already been strong after the band launched a pre-sale for fans at the weekend.
The Sherlocks will play their final UK show of the year at the Patti Pavilion in Swansea on November 18th. They then head into Europe for a headline tour that will see them perform in eleven countries across the continent.
The Don Valley Bowl represents a landmark in the continuing story of The Sherlocks, who are completed by guitarist Alex Procter and bassist Trent Jackson. Their debut album ‘Live For The Moment’ and third set ‘World I Understand’ both reached the Top 10 before reaching a new peak with their best record to date, ‘People Like Me & You’. They’ve sold-out headline shows including Manchester’s O2 Ritz and Academy plus London’s Electric Ballroom, stormed arenas as special guests to Liam Gallagher, Kings of Leon and Kaiser Chiefs, and made a big impression with main stage festival sets at Reading and Leeds.
Expect more news from The Sherlocks camp to follow ahead of the show.
