London,  The Molotovs today release their third single, aiming for a third UK No. 1 physical single in a row with ‘Rhythm Of Yourself’ (Marshall Records), backed by ‘Johnny Don’t Be Scared’.

The accompanying music video (released today at 5pm GMT) sees the band, brother and sister Mathew and Issey Cartlidge, aged 17 and 19, confronting the “small man” of the song in a film noir production.

The video is a Clash Entertainment Production, directed by Matt Chandler and filmed in The Nightjar in Shoreditch and Rooz Studios.

Against a backdrop of smoky bars and mean streets, the production reflects the lyrics, which tell the story of an encounter with a manipulative music industry figure trying to take advantage of a very young Matt and Issey.

Matt said: “The song is about dancing to your own rhythm, whatever you’re being told by those around you. Groove to the beat of your own drum. Don’t let anyone get in the way of your vision. It’s what we’re all about as a band.”

He said the track was influenced by The Jam, Favourite Worst Nightmare era Arctic Monkeys and Sex Pistols.

Issey said: “We’re so pleased with the video – it transports you to a different time. The concept is great and it looks amazing – I love those outfits.”

On Thursday the band signed a global publishing deal with Notting Hill Music.

The band’s debut album, Wasted On Youth, is out on January 30 and this week it was announced that The Molotovs will be joining Yungblud on his arena tour next spring. Before that, they’re on the road with Palaye Royale in November.

Last week, the band played their biggest London headline show to date at the Electric Ballroom, which picked up a 5* review from Music News (“Youth, passion and a refusal to concede to apathy”) and 4* from SpinVybe (“A punk rock renaissance gathering momentum”). Total Rock described the band as “dangerous yet glorious”, while Punk In Focus wrote: “Jaw dropping doesn’t even begin to describe them – The Molotovs are the future of British Rock.”

‘Rhythm Of Yourself’ was produced by Jason Perry at Marshall Studios.

The song is backed by ‘Johnny Don’t Be Scared’, which was recorded at Paul Weller’s Black Barn Studios. The record will be available on white vinyl as well as on digital streaming platforms.

‘Rhythm Of Yourself’ is the band’s third single after ‘More More More’ and ‘Today’s Gonna Be Our Day’, both of which hit the top of the physical singles charts. The Molotovs’ debut album, Wasted On Youth, is released on 30th January 2026 (Marshall Records).

Although Matt is still 17 and Issey 19, the band have learnt their craft on stage, playing more than 600 gigs since 2020. They’ve shared stages with the likes of The LibertinesSex PistolsBlondieIggy Pop and The Damned – as well as being shouted out by Green Day and Paul Weller.
