About The Low Blow: Nashville-based emo band, The Low Blow, is gearing up for the release of their second full-length album, Forest For The Trees, diving into the themes of loss, self discovery, and hope in the face of internal turmoil. Since their formation in 2018, the band has has released two EPs, a live EP, one LP, and a split release with fellow Nashville-natives, Topiary Creatures.
The evolution of the band’s sound has been a showcase of the members’ self discovery as much as the lyrics on display, ranging from soulful rock on the band’s earliest release to a heavier, raucous, subtly Appalachian-twinged outpouring of achingly honest emo on the upcoming release. The lyrical evolution reveals the journey of accepting one’s LGBTQ+ identity and the themes of loss and grief, both on a soul level and with the outward state of the world.
Beyond studio work, The Low Blow has toured locally and abroad with heavy hitter acts like Carpool, Cliffdiver, Leisure Hour, Cinema Stare, Arcadia Grey, and New Grounds Death Rugby, to name a few; this doesn’t include tours with scene mainstays Raccoon Tour and King Pink.
The Low Blow’s grit and drive has propelled tracks like “Sooner” off their second EP, hurting. healing. to streaming success, with 1.6 million streams and counting. Lead vocalist, Patsy, has also cultivated her own following on TikTok and other social platforms. She has amassed roughly 160K followers who await her and The Low Blow’s next content drop.
The Low Blow epitomizes the meaning of DIY. They’ve gone so far as to self produce, record, mix, and master the upcoming release entirely in-house. This release marks a shift into the most focused vision of all the disparate influences amongst them to date, and they look forward to sharing it with the world. Enjoy
