THE HARA – Stay (Official Music Video)

THE HARA returns with their dark and intoxicating new single, “Stay,” and the news that they have signed to Mascot Records (Dinosaur Pile-Up, Calva Louise, Defects, VOLA). Watch the video for Stay HERE.

They are also bringing their electrifying sonic assault on the road, supporting Nothing More in Europe, As December Falls in the UK in October and November, on top of festival appearances at 2000 Trees (UK), Boomtown (UK), and Mighty Sounds Festival (Czech Republic).

They have also announced a 10-date co-headline tour of Europe with Call Me Amour from 8 – 20 November, calling through the Netherlands, Austria, Czech Republic and Germany.  Tickets will go on sale at 10am CET on 27 June and are available HERE.

Josh Taylor, Zack Breen, and Jack Kennedy’s raucous genre mash-up of alternative rock, metalcore, and emo has seen them grab attention and pick up support tours with Nothing More, Escape the Fate, and Ice Nine Kills over the last year while dropping the singles The System and Trophy. The Manchester trio have built a formidable live reputation, which has led to them supporting pop-punk giants Sum 41, and they’ve exploded across the festival circuit with performances at Download, Slam Dunk, 2000 Trees, Kendal Calling, TRNSMT, Tramlines, Truck, and an incredible main stage set at both Reading and Leeds Festival, and Rock For People (Czech Republic).

Co-written with close friend Kid Brunswick, “Stay” showcases THE HARA’s continued ability to meld fresh, alternative metal with lyrical depth, creating a more mature take on their recognisable soundscape. From the moment Taylor opens with, “Are you holding on, Are you holding on for me, Cos you’re still in my lungs. It’s suffocating me,” you are immediately drawn into his vulnerability, which derails you before being disorientated and catapulted between the angst-ridden metal climaxes and his tender openness.

The track finds vocalist and lyricist Josh Taylor grappling with the suffocating toxicity of a damaging relationship. The desperate desire to cling to that which hurts you is mirrored in the musicality, with delicate, fragile verses that are then shattered by heavy, chugging guitars and thunderous drums. This hard-hitting track is an exploration of both vulnerability and destruction.

The themes of abandonment and dependency are brought to life through a suite of visuals that draw inspiration from ghost stories and Gothic, vampiric romance. A music video in a forgotten and decaying nunnery creates a haunting sense of despair and an eerie unease throughout. Artwork and photography by Cosmic Joke, captured in the gothic corners of Whitby, bring to life and reflect the vampiric nature of a parasitic relationship.

Their explosive and theatrical swagger, which blends elements of Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, I Prevail, Limp Bizkit, Band Omens and Falling In Reverse, has seen them pick up support from Kerrang!, Dork, Clash, Kerrang! Radio and BBC Radio 1’s Introducing and Future Alternative shows.

Fresh from a sold-out UK headline tour at the start of the year, THE HARA are looking to build on the success of singles “Trophy” and “The System” by launching “Stay” in tandem with a summer of festivals and supporting metal giants, Nothing More and As December Falls.
