Emerging out of Miami, Florida, The Gas are bringing that raw, authentic feeling back to rock ‘n’ roll. The band make their debut today on Tiger Records with singles “Angel” and “14K Blues”, abundant with laid back vibes and slick grooves that make for a catchy pair. The songs encapsulate an almost Americana take on South Florida – to be played in a dive bar or a backyard hang, to be listened to in a denim jacket or beach attire. It may come as no surprise then that the video for “14K Blues” follows the band through a flea market, where nearly anything is attainable, and pulls into that feeling of vintage nostalgia. Inspired by artists like Lou Reed and Johnny Thunders, the band is keen on writing songs that feel good to them and translate best in a live setting. They’ll play their first show tomorrow night in Brooklyn, NY at Gold Sounds alongside a mixed bill of rockers, hardcore bands, and rappers, keeping the eclectic vibes at a maximum. The Gas is Ian Dolan (guitar/vocals), David Voss (bass), and Blake Kerr (drums). |
