ABOUT THE EP:

The Phantom Pain 5-song EP is a genre-bending journey through the depths of human emotion and experience. The first track, “Phantom Pain,” sets the tone with a powerful fusion of rap and metalcore, encapsulating the heartache of moving on from someone who took you for granted and caused you pain. Despite the hurt, the song reflects the complexity of emotions that prevent you from hating or forgetting them entirely. Track two, “Five of Cups,” is a heavier, more progressive piece that delves into the despair of feeling irreparably broken, no matter how hard you try to mend yourself.

The EP continues with “The Lovers,” a softer ballad that blends emo, alternative rock, post-hardcore, and metal. This song reflects on personal growth and change, expressing a bittersweet longing to meet someone at a different time in life and ultimately finding pride in the journey despite past mistakes. “Kenopsia,” the fourth track, offers a blend of modern metal and rock with gothic undertones, exploring the theme of lost trust and the struggle to be vulnerable again. The EP concludes with “Fractured,” featuring Kellin Quinn from Sleeping With Sirens, a favorite among the band’s live performances. This powerful track deals with the feeling of losing a part of yourself when you lose someone you love and the hope that listeners can piece their lives back together.

ARTIST QUOTE:

“The Phantom Pain EP is an artistic representation of moving on and understanding oneself. When I was writing these songs, I took an introspective lyrical approach, recounting some of the hardships I’ve experienced on a personal level over the last few years as I’ve transitioned from an adolescent to an independent young adult. Writing this music helped me gain a deeper emotional intelligence with myself, allowed me to grow comfortable with the changes in my personality, and facilitated healing from heartbreak and conflict; I hope this music has a similar effect on those who listen.” – Cameron Foley / Vocals
