From its opening moments, the track brims with raw power and restless energy, swelling into a soaring, guitar-driven chorus led by Jake Bomgaars’s impassioned vocal delivery. It’s an anthem that demands to be sung at full volume. “‘Lost’ is about drifting inside a relationship that’s lost its clarity, where love feels more like memory than presence. It wrestles with the ache of staying when both hearts are already halfway gone, clinging to words and warmth that may no longer mean the same thing”, shares vocalist Jake Bomgaars. ‘Lost’ follows on from recent single ‘Like That’, which earned support from Radio X and Amazing Radio, and continues to showcase Night Cap’s knack for crafting songs that move seamlessly between uplifting indie anthems, cathartic release, and irresistible choruses. Both tracks offer a glimpse into the band’s forthcoming second album It’s Happening, due September 26th, an unflinching yet hopeful exploration of heartbreak, growth, and emotional reckoning. Produced by Kolton Lee, and executive produced by Grammy Award–winner Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, James Bay, City and Colour), the record charts self-evolution, relationships, and identity, navigating life’s turbulence while carving out moments of stillness and clarity in the unknown. “This album is about change, not just what’s happening around you, but what’s happening inside,” explains bassist Alex Alfonso. “There’s no clean resolution here, just movement, and the decision to keep going even when it hurts.” Known for their signature blend of heartfelt melodies, dynamic instrumentation, and nostalgic yet forward-thinking sound, Night Cap has become one of Texas’s most talked about independent acts. Formed in Austin after meeting at college, the band quickly gained attention with their breakout debut single Everest, which has since surpassed 3 million streams. Since then, they’ve built a loyal following through sold-out shows across Texas, appearances at Austin City Limits, Luck Reunion, Float Fest, and a standout live session with Audiotree. Along the way, they have shared stages with acts like Dayglow, Mt. Joy, Wilderado, and Krooked Kings. Night Cap recently announced a 13-date US headline run for November 2025, tickets on sale HERE, with further dates to follow. |
