Telling Secrets is quickly becoming synonymous with atmospheric, mesmerizing heavy, and the latest track is no different. Splicing lyrics in frontman Vik Kovacs’ native Hungarian into the soaring vocal delivery, the track offers a fitting conduit between a thunderous sonic outlay and relatable, heart-on-sleeve storytelling.

The tale itself is one of Kovacs and co’s most personal to date, unpacking his immigrant background and the challenges he, and many others continue to face.

Kovacs explains: “I’ve always wanted to somehow display where I come from and what I am. I used “Glorybound” to explain that I was born in Budapest, to a Hungarian family, and grew up in England to be moulded into something slightly unusual with traits from both cultures. I’m not sure I identify with either single one 100%. A little bit of both and a little bit of neither. The current world climate can be very challenging for the mind and the soul of an immigrant, and this song is meant to inspire all of my friends and myself across the world on all their journeys.”

On the ambitious video shoot Kovacs adds: “The idea for Glorybound both sonically and visually was inspired by (classic 1968 Western) Once Upon A Time In The West. That’s where the harmonica idea came from originally. The track was written by myself and Scott Mik & it also focuses on the rest of the band (also: Luke Nightmare – drums, Alessio Ammendola – guitar) who usually only join me live, but that was so important for this song.”

The secret is out…

Alternative rock emergent Telling Secrets burst onto the scene in 2024, with a collision of arena-ready choruses and explosive breakdowns that have since hit the airwaves on Kerrang Radio, Sirius XM Octane, Idobi Radio & BBC Radio 1 Introducing Rock.

Last year’s debut album, Telling Secrets I was a spectacular first entry for the band. Featuring a stacked set of rock ragers, the band nods to a dexterous array of influence from Dayseeker to The Used to Sleep Token.

“Telling Secrets is set to shake up the scene with a myriad of eclectic styles converging, united by a balanced and slick production thanks to some esteemed collaborators” – Loudwire

2025 has seen the release of angst-laden “Paranoid” and the dazzling “Faith”. Now back with a third banger of the year, “Glorybound” is a rollercoaster of sizzling riffs, gripping vocals and a sonic barrage that marries ethereal electronic injections and brutal breakdowns.

But much more, “Glorybound” is an ode to multiculturalism. Indeed, Telling Secrets boast band members from the US, Italy, South Korea and Kovacs’ – a Hungarian who grew up in the UK, before moving to Los Angeles. The lyrics reflect this as they switch from his native tongue to English; Telling Secrets explore the hardships and challenges of being an immigrant in the current climate, with freedoms threatened and fears for safety.

“I totally lost my mind when I first heard this. Where have you been my entire life?” – Alyx Holcombe, BBC Radio 1
