Fast-rising Adelaide juice-box punk-pop duo Teenage Joans have today released their infectious new single, ‘My Heart’s Dead!’.

Having recently shared stages with the likes of Foo FightersSum 41, and Sleeping With Sirens and following the release of their ‘Disney Channel’ era track ‘Sweet And Slow’, the pair have returned with a playful, tongue-in-cheek anthem that explores heartbreak with their signature wit and charm.

Speaking of the new single vocalist and guitarist Cahli Blakers shares, “Funnily enough, ‘My Heart’s Dead!’ started with a Ke$ha song. When we did triple j’s Like A Version in 2024, one of the songs we considered covering was “Die Young” by Ke$ha. It never made the cut, but we loved the bones of our interpretation and we really wanted to do something with it. We basically posed the question – what if Ke$ha made a song with Blink 182? That’s where the reoccurring pop hook came from, and we obviously pumped the song full of attitude.

Cahli continues “My Heart’s Dead!” is a playful tounge-in-cheek song that dramatically asks if someone could make you fall in love again by implying that “I’ll never find love”. We really wanted to write a song where there are three main vocal hooks that repeat throughout the whole song and layer over each other at the end for a huge singalong that people can easily pick up at our live shows.”

Since Teenage Joans first burst onto the stage in late 2018, they have left every room they play full of brand-new and soon-to-be long-time fans. Consisting of vocalist and drummer Tahlia Borg and vocalist and guitarist Cahli Blakers the two-piece indie/pop-punk powerhouse not only play beautifully crafted songs that have audiences singing along the first time they hear them, but the songs are as real and important as they are unapologetic. Cahli and Tahlia have a lot to say and they are going to say it, you are going to listen, and nobody is going to stand in their way.

Going from strength to strength, Teenage Joans has spent the last few years on tour around Australia and the US with the likes of Foo Fighters, Sum 41, Sleeping With Sirens, Noahfinnce, Amy Shark, Holding Absence, Pale Waves, Ball Park Music, The Chats + many more as well as selling out multiple national headline tours. They were also invited to perform at festivals such as Good Things, Unify, SXSW Austin, Splendour In The Grass, Groovin The Moo, Laneway Festival, Spin Off with many more to come.

After taking out the triple j unearthed high crown in 2020, the Adelaide two-piece have not slowed down–the self-proclaimed “Juice-box punk-pop” girls have taken out #87 in the 2020 Hottest 100, #84 in the 2021 Hottest 100, released their debut EP ‘Taste Of Me’ and won a record breaking 7 Awards at the 2021 SAM Awards including awards for ‘Best New Artist’, ‘Best Live Performance’ and ‘Best Release ’as well as taking home ‘Best Punk Artist’ in 2022 & 2023.

In 2023, we saw the outfit release their debut album ‘The Rot That Grows Inside My Chest’ through Domestic La La / Unified which made 7 appearances throughout ARIA charts and landing them an ARIA nomination for ‘Best Heavy Album’ and saw the creation of the bands short film displaying the album visually through an Alice In Wonderland like story.
