On July 25th Nuovo Testamento will release their new Trouble EP through their own imprint, Discoteca Italia. Showcasing the trio’s most mature and explorative repertoire to date, the five songs on Trouble encapsulate the ’80s and ’90s influences the group holds dear – melding freestyle, synth pop and alternative music into a cohesive (and danceable) sonic statement. Having lead with infectious single “Picture Perfect” the group now shares “Dream On.”

“Dream On” is a high-energy  track driven by a punchy beat and effervescent hook that will stick with listeners long after the record ends. Chelsea Crowley’s dynamic vocals shine bright as ever, effortlessly navigating the synth and drum driven rhythm and anchoring a sound that is equal parts melodic and moody. The official video channels this energy into a vibrant visual feast – giving viewers a taste of what to expect from the band on stage and emphasizing the joyous musical interplay between Crowley and her bandmates. Watch the video for “Dream On” HERE and stream the track HERE.

On the single, the band shares:

“Dream On is about impermanence and seeking belonging. It’s about fading in the light and being told to become a simpler version of yourself, even after you thought you had found your place in the world. Dream On speaks to the constance of change, the falsehood of security and the reality of having to start over, again and again.”

Fans of Nuovo Testamento can dance along to the singles and more when the band hit Los Angeles, New York, and Tucson this summer, followed by dates supporting Sextile in September. Full routing below.

Nuovo Testamento – the Los Angeles based trio consisting of Chelsey Crowley (vocals), Giacomo Zatti (drums) and Andrea Mantione (synth) – has spent the last several years seizing dance floors across the world with their blend of dark Italo-disco and synth drenched pop. Launching in 2019, the band’s debut EP, Exposure (Avant! Records) acted as a coldwave calling card for the group, showcasing their promising musical acumen and establishing them as a goth-night favorite. However, it was their 2021 follow up New Earth that truly articulated the trio’s dark-pop prowess and earned them a spot amongst the fastest rising stars in the alternative scene. A kaleidoscopic blast of vintage club sounds, pulsing synths and modern pop precision, the release earned nods from across the genre spectrum. 2023’s self-released Love Lines and tours with Molchat Doma and The Soft Moon solidified the staying power of the band, opening the door for remix collaborations with groups like Drab Majesty, Curses, and Scowl and a busy itinerary of live performances. With crystalline modern production from Maurizio Baggio (Boy Harsher, The Soft Moon) and effervescent songwriting, Nuovo Testamento has created a fresh new sound unmistakably their own and the release of Trouble promises another breakout year for the band.
