UK SHOWS THIS WINTER WITH DON BROCO

Albany-raised pop-punk band State Champs released a new single, “Common Sense,” via Pure Noise Records. It’s a punchy, high-energy track that’s packed with the band’s signature catchy hooks and dynamic guitars, while showcasing a heavier side to their evolving sound.

The band shared their sentiments on the new track below:

“Common Sense brings out a slightly darker and heavier side to us while keeping the Champ’s integrity strong. Lyrically, it’s about completely investing yourself in someone while also being naive to the fact that you never had anything in common to begin with.”

This is the first song the band has put out since their self-titled record came out in November 2024. The album marked a new chapter for the band, showcasing their evolution while staying true to their roots. It featured hit singles including “Light Blue,” “Too Late To Say,” and “Silver Cloud.” The album received praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, AltPress, Rock Sound and New Noise Magazine, admiring its blend of nostalgic Warped Tour-era energy and modern pop punk sounds. It cemented them as torchbearers on the scene and is one of the band’s most celebrated albums to date.

This September, the band will be on tour with A Day to Remember and Yellowcard in the USA before performing at several music festivals including Four Chord Music Festival, Vans Warped Tour Orlando, Aftershock Festival and the Emo’s Not Dead Cruise in January 2026.

This December, they will return to the UK in support of Don Broco for a series of arena dates:

2nd December 2025 – Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham

3rd December 2025 – Utilita Arena, Cardiff

5th December 2025 – OVO Arena Wembley, London

6th December 2025 – Aviva Studios, Manchester

About State Champs

Nearly 15 years after the band’s formation, lead singer Derek DiScanio, bassist Ryan Scott Graham, guitarist Tyler Szalkowski, and drummer Evan Ambrosio found themselves at different points in their personal lives—marriage, kids, and relocations across the country made for a new kind of relationship dynamic. Produced by Anton DeLost (Mayday Parade, Hawthorne Heights), State Champs showcases some of the best edgy, high-energy tracks that have defined their career thus far.

Over the course of their career, State Champs has received accolades from the likes of Rolling Stone, MTVKerrang!, UpsetAlternative Press, and Rock Sound, among others. Their sophomore album, Around the World and Back, entered the Billboard Current Rock Albums chart at No. 3 and made Rock Sound’s Top 10 Albums of the Year. Living Proof followed in 2018, and that same year Billboard called them “modern-day pop-punk torchbearers.” The band has also collaborated with some of pop-punk’s heaviest hitters, co-writing songs with Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low and Mark Hoppus from Blink-182 on their latest album Kings of the New Age.

Rolling Stone spoke with the band exclusively on their record this summer and shared they are “channeling their definitive mix of punchy punk rhythms and irresistible pop hooks in the new tracks.” On State Champs, they cement themselves as an outfit that can and will stand the test of time.

State Champs is Derek DiScanio (Vocals), Tyler Szalkowski (Guitar), Ryan Scott Graham (Bass) and Evan Ambrosio (Drums).
