St. Lundi is on a high as the September 20th release of his debut album ‘The Island’ approaches. With his recent singles earning a playlist as well as further support at Radio 2, plus a Track of the Week at BBC Introducing and ongoing features on ‘Love Island’, he is also making a big impact in the live arena. He was a hit during a run of outdoor shows as guest to the legendary Take That, instigating huge singalongs each night. His own shows are in demand too, with his solo UK andEuropean pop-up tour already sold-out. He has also confirmed a North American co-headline tour with Jake Thistle, his biggest full band tour to date in the autumn, and a 2025 North American pop-up tour. Now St. Lundi causes another wave of anticipation for ‘The Island’ by sharing the new single ‘Loved Somebody Else’. Listen HERE. An instant contender for his strongest song to date, ‘Loved Somebody Else’ is full of the strengths that fans are coming to love St. Lundi for. His lyrics are brave enough to articulate the vulnerabilities that come with being insecure within a new relationship. Yet St. Lundi’s love of soaring melodies and strident hooks takes the song somewhere else entirely, ultimately sounding more like a celebration than an expression of insecurity. St. Lundi says, “I fell in love for the first and only time back in 2020 and this song came from an emotion I had felt once or twice in the beginning of the relationship. I was nervous and inexperienced in falling in love and being in a relationship, but knew that my partner had been in one before. My own insecurities started to make me feel jealous of the relationship she’d had before ours and I’d worry about if she loved me as much as I loved her or if I was being too much.” ‘Loved Somebody Else’ was produced by Matt James (Tom Gregory) and Ollie Green (Gavin James), and was written by St. Lundi with Tim Deal (James Arthur), Yk Koi (David Guetta), Ollie Green and Andrew Frampton (The Script). ‘Loved Somebody Else’ is the latest song to preview ‘The Island’. Each song operates as an autobiographical chapter in St. Lundi’s life, from leaving his home on the Hayling Island for bigger dreams in London to delving into the stories and personalities from his family, and finding – and trying to maintain – love. The album is available to pre-save and pre-order (a limited edition blue vinyl) HERE. ‘The Island’ Album Tracklisting - The Island (intro)
